Hyundai, Kia Reach $400 Million Class Action Settlement Over MPG Claims
Hyundai and Kia announced that they have reached a combined $400 million settlement in a lawsuit alleging that they inflated the fuel economy data for their vehicles. Owners are expected to receive $353 – $667 each.

 

Four Seasons, Marriott Workers Win Millions in Unpaid Tips Two famous luxury hotels, Four Seasons Ltd. And the Marriott Hotel Services Inc., have agreed to settle class action lawsuits alleging that they withheld tips from workers that were part of mandatory service charges placed on bills. Attorneys are investigating similar cases now for workers in other companies who didn’t get paid the tips they’re owed.

 

Facebook Must Face Class Action Lawsuit Over Minors’ Credit Purchases Last week, a California federal judge ruled that Facebook would have to face a class action lawsuit related to minors who made Facebook Credit purchases without their parents’ permission. Minnesota Woman Sues Pfizer for Lipitor Type-2 Diabetes A Minnesota woman is suing Pfizer for the injuries she allegedly sustained from ingesting their cholesterol medication, Lipitor. She alleges that as a direct result of taking Lipitor, she developed type-2 diabetes.

 

Judge Approves Barbara’s Bakery Class Action Settlement A California federal judge has granted final approval to a $4 million class action settlement. Consumers have until Wednesday, January 1, to file a claim to receive up to $100 from the class action lawsuit settlement.

 

Piroxicam May Be Linked to SJS, TEN Piroxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), a class of drugs designed to provide pain relief and reduce inflammation while avoiding the serious side effects associated with steroids and narcotics. However, it turns out that this drug may be linked to serious side effects like Stevens Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN).

 

eBay Featured Plus Class Action Settlement Online auction company eBay has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit over allegations it incorrectly described its eBay Featured Plus! Listing upgrade to sellers. Payments will amount to pocket change for some claimants, while others expect to get a few bucks depending on eBay’s records.

 

Lawsuit Says Bayer Failed to Report Mirena Complications to FDA A Mirena users has filed a lawsuit against Bayer Healthcare alleging that its Mirena contraceptive device caused her serious medical complications, resulting in pain, medical costs, and other expenses.

 

Nissan Brake Defect Class Action Lawsuit Certified A federal judge has granted certification to a class action lawsuit against Nissan over alleged brake defects in certain Nissan Armada and Titan Trucks, as well as Infiniti QX56 vehicles.

 

Hip Revision Surgery Patient Sues J&J, DePuy for Faulty Implant A husband and wife have filed a product liability lawsuit against DePuy Orthopaedics, Johnson & Johnson and other related entities over alleged complications the husband endured from one of the companies’ metal-on-metal artificial hip implants.

That’s all for now! My girls LOVE their new trampoline. Thankfully it’s small and I’m about 130 pounds too big for it. That will probably save me from a Facebook update from the hospital.
