Artic Glacier Ice, Reddy Ice

Arctic Glacier Inc., Reddy Ice Corp. and related companies have reached a class action settlement over allegations they fixed and raised the prices of Packaged Ice. If you purchased Packaged Ice from a retailer (e.g., supermarket, grocery store or gas station) between 2001 and 2008, you may be eligible to claim a cash award of $6 from the Packaged Ice antitrust settlement.

Who’s Eligible

Class Members include all individuals and businesses who purchased Packaged Ice from a retailer in Arizona, California, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, and/or Wisconsin that was made by Arctic Glacier Inc., Arctic Glacier International Inc., Arctic Glacier Income Fund, The Home City Ice Company, Reddy Ice Corp., or Reddy Ice Holdings Inc. or their subsidiaries or affiliates at any time during the period from Jan. 1, 2001 to March 6, 2008.

Potential Award

$6 

Class Members of the Packaged Ice antitrust settlement can claim a cash award of $6 if they purchased three or more bags of Packaged Ice, no proof of purchase necessary. Class Members claiming more than 10 bags must submit proof of purchase to receive $0.60 for each additional bag over 10.

None required unless you want to claim more than 10 bags of Packaged Ice.

Case Summary

The Reddy Ice, Arctic Glacier class action settlement resolves allegations that the defendants violated U.S. antitrust law by conspiring to raise, fix, maintain or stabilize the price of Packaged Ice and/or allocate markets and customers. Plaintiffs further allege that as a result of the conspiracy, they and other indirect purchasers of Packaged Ice have been injured by paying more for Packaged Ice than they would have paid in the absence of the illegal conduct.

Defendants deny the allegations but have entered a $3.95 million class action settlement agreement to resolve the litigation.
