Details: The proposed Blue Rhino settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit, entitled In Re: Pre-Filled Propane Tank Marketing and Sales Practices Litigation, that claims Blue Rhino, together with certain competitors, reduced the amount of propane gas in the cylinders it sold without disclosing this to customers and without disclosing the actual fill of the cylinders. Blue Rhino denies any wrongdoing but has agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to avoid ongoing litigation.

Under the Blue Rhino propane tank class action settlement, Blue Rhino has agreed to provide cash refunds to consumers who file valid and timely claims. I have found my local propane station, Suburban Propane, can fill my tank full and costs less than a Rhino exchanged unit.
    Some U-hauls fill tanks too.

Between 2005 & 2011 I probably purchased 35 to 40 refills ( 20 lb ) refills of Blue Rhino. Who the hell keeps all their receipts? Luckily I at least have 6 tanks on hand to take serial numbers from to get something. Still, a big company gets away with B.S. again.

IT’S ABOUT TIME “BLUE RHINO PROPANE” GOT SCREWED!! I worked for them for almost 3 years in Turlock. Got a new General Manager, (WHAT A JOKE, HE WAS), Damn he was NEVER AT WORK. I went on vacation finally after he cancelled it twice. I had to pay $50 everytime he cancelled my vacation and then pk the next days, he did that twice.. Got “FIRED”” the day I returned to work. Oh, the SOB called me on THURSDAY to make sure “PAYROLL” was done.” Which I did take care of it, cause he didn’t have any idea on how to do it. Or even know how to check to see if it was done…GET ALL YOU CAN FROM BLUE RHINO
