LG G2x Mobile Phone Defect Class Action Settlement

A class action settlement has been reached with LG Electronics MobileComm USA Inc. regarding an alleged defect in some of its mobile phones. If you purchased an LG G2x mobile phone between April 15, 2011 and Oct. 30, 2013, you are eligible to receive $19 from the settlement.

Who’s Eligible

Class Members of the LG G2x mobile phone defect settlement include all persons who reside in the United States who purchased an LG G2x mobile phone and who complained to LG or T-Mobile about either the shutdown defect or the screen bleed defect. To be eligible for compensation from the class action settlement fund, Class Members must be able to verify that they continued to experience problems after complaining to LG or T-Mobile.

Case Summary

The class action lawsuit alleged that LG G2x mobile phones had defects that caused the phones to either repeatedly freeze, shut down and power off randomly, or bleed or leak backlight from the edges of the phones’ screens.

LG has denied the allegations but agreed to settle the class action lawsuit to avoid the uncertainty and expense of trial.
