The LG refrigerator settlement covers more than 600,000 consumers who alleged in a class action lawsuit, entitled McLennan v. 1. MARK MASON says:

I have one of these Kenmore Elite Refrigerator Model #795.77712 The interior lights stay on with the doors closed. Also the interior light cover melted due to the heat from the lights always remaining on. All of the food in the refrigerator spoiled on many occasions. The compressor is also part of this on going issue. PLease reach out to let me know if I have further recourse with this concern.

  2. Theresa Tabor says:

I purchased my Kenmore Elite in January 2014, for $2,225. On 27 June 2023, repair man said the compressor going bad as my freezer’s temp was 34 degrees. He said he saw white powder as evidence of this. Repair cost would be over $2,000. He stated I should buy a new refrigerator as my warranty had expired. He said the model number #795.71033.010 may be part of a know defect and I question why Sear was able to sell this as Kenmore/Whirlpool knew they were selling refrigorattors with defective compressors. As this was a known matter shouldn’t they be held accountable for selling a known defective product?

  3. Brian Kane says:

I bought a Kenmore French door model 795.51833.413 in June 2019. The compressor stopped working 2 days ago and spoiled all the food. Kenmore tells me the warrantee is good for only the 1st year. What should I do?

  4. James & Shelly Blanchard says:

I have a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator 795.72053.112 Compressor is bad. How do I make a claim for this? We has at least 2 technicians come out for problems. This refrigerator was a problem from the beginning. Thank You

  6. Sylvie says:

I am now learning of this lawsuit which involves my model Kenmore 7957724 purchased brand new. I just had to remove the light bulbs to stop the problem but the cover and inside top are damaged/melted. Is there any recourse for me? Any response would be appreciated.

  7. Richard Jakusz says:

I have a LG model Fridge listed where the top is now burnt for exactly the same reasons as described in this Class Action Suit. What do I do?

  8. Jen Wood says:

My Kenmore Elite light didn’t defect until 2017. I called Sears repair in December 2017 and they indicated it was covered under this recall. Fast forward to May 2018 and it is still not fixed. They indicated that the part is out of stock and they have been dragging me a long for 6 months. Sears is NOT complying with the settlement warranty portion of this class action settlement.

  9. Dorothy F. Horsfield says:

Is there another class action suit going on concerning Kenmore Trio Elite model #795.77572600, Serial#605KR00029 Purchased 7/7/2006 from Sears? Problem arising from interior light staying on while door is closed causing extreme heat melting cover and refrigerated items nearby. Scorched light socket and electrical smell. Sears recall section said that there was no recall and it was safe to use.
