Details: The Bed Bath & Beyond settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit, entitled Barbara Salmonson v. Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc., that alleges BBB violated California law by requesting and recording personal identification information, including but not limited to, home ZIP codes of BBB customers who paid for merchandise in a California Bed Bath & Beyond store using a credit card.
BBB denies all allegations of wrongdoing, but has agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve the litigation.
Class Members of the Bed Bath & Beyond zip code settlement include anyone who used a credit card to make a purchase at a Bed Bath & Beyond store located in California between January 1, 2011 and January 14, 2011 and BBB requested and recorded their personal identification information, including but not limited to, their home ZIP code during the credit card transaction.
Class Members will be able to choose one of two benefits from the Bed Bath & Beyond class action settlement: (1) a $7 BBB gift card, or (2) a BBB discount certificate for 15% off any purchase of up to $250.
To receive any of these benefits from the BBB class action lawsuit settlement, you must submit a valid claim form postmarked by the deadline of November 7, 2012. Claim forms can be downloaded online at www.BBBZipCodeSettlement.com. Class Members should have received a Settlement Notice Postcard in the mail with a unique code to be used when filing a claim. If you did not receive this postcard or lost it, contact the Settlement Administrator at 877-465-4891.
The Final Fairness hearing will be held January 28, 2013.
