Details: The AT&T automated call settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit titled Meilleur v. AT&T Corp. that alleges AT&T failed to comply with Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the Washington Automatic Dialing and Announcing Devices Act (WADAD) in its delivery of the following pre-recorded telephone message between July 30, 2008 and May 29, 2012:

“Hi this is AT&T calling with an important message regarding your recent long distance calling. This call is to alert you that someone in your household recently made one or more international calls which will appear on your next AT&T bill at a non-discounted rate. Thank you for using AT&T. Our number is 800-235-9920.”

AT&T denies any wrongdoing but has agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve the litigation.

Class Members of the AT&T automated call settlement include all persons within the United States who between July 30, 2008, and May 29, 2012 received the telephone call message who had not selected AT&T as their presubscribed long distance carrier at the time of the call, plus all California residents who received the call and were on AT&T’s internal do-not-call list at the time they received the call.

we have att for 22 years. my child has att for 12 years. Because this is Garden city Group handling these claims we have not heard anything. Names addresses are tagged no matter what we file. Rejection as usual without notifications. Checks were distributed on August first week is true says on website. Good luck to untagged people on GCG database.

i had a cell phone with at&t and my bill was awful i suppose to had unlimited minutes but i found out each time someone forgot to put it on my contract, my bil ranged from 350.00 a month to 425.00 a month and i was told i was on contract i couldn,t cancel but i did it cost me a little over 200.00 to cancel it was better than paying them 3-4 hundred a month, i would like to be added to this lawsuit, i am no longer with them icould not afford them.

  6. Johnny L. Rispress says:

I had at&t wireless internet service about 3 year and cancelled it because the service was bad. I went to the at&t store before my 30 day was up and cancelled it the girl that was there she said she can cancelled it there but the next month i got a bill.So when i went back to the store the guy there told me i couldnt cancelled my service at the store. So he call at&t offices and had it turn off but i had to paid the bill plus a fee to turn the wireless internet off . he also told me the girl that told she had turn me wireless internet off didnt work there anymore. He told that I had use so of my internet on my labtop computer after i use thinking it was turn off.. So i was wondering sent i was a customer of at&t can i apply for the at&t lawsuit. You can reach me at jripress@gmail.com

  7. Valerie says:

@betty 1. Your bill going up is something you need to take up with at&t. Even if you are not using your service rates can change at any time depending on the service fees and tax changes. Ask the company why it is going up before trying to sue right off the bat.
    2. If you are a customer of AT&T this lawsuit does not apply to you. This lawsuit is only for people who do not have AT&T, which im guessing if your asking them to add a lawsuit for your bill going up, you are in fact with AT&T.

  8. betty darrisaw says:

no matter how much i pay this bill it goes up and up each month. i work during the day and use cell phone in the evening. so why my bill goes up and not down. i would like to be added to this lawsuit.
