Details: The extended auto/vehicle warranty class action lawsuit settlement is an addition to an existing class action settlement. This settlement allows you to submit a new claim if you missed the first deadline or to send in any proof requested if your original claim was deemed insufficient. Extended warranties for cars, trucks, vans and other vehicles were offered by, or underwritten by, SC&E Administrative Services, National Warranty Insurance Risk Retention Group, American Prime Asset, and Triad Marketing, LLC. Unfortunately these companies failed and went into bankruptcy. Because of this thousands of car owners extended warranties were no longer valid and auto dealers who were supposed to be reimbursed for repairs completed never received payment. If you bought one of these extended warranties head over to the Settlement Administrator website and download the claim form.

Fill out the claim form completely. You’ll need the details of the repair work completed, your contract number and other vehicle information. Review the information, make sure you filled the form out completely and accurately, sign, date and submit the claim form (paying special attention to the note regarding IRS rules at the bottom of the claim form.) It’s entirely possible that you’ll be paid thousands of dollars as part of the settlement once it’s officially approved, so make sure that you filled it out accurately. Now, go forth and submit your claim!

Purchased From: All persons who bought or possessed a Vehicle Service Contract (“VSC”) for which the obligations of the issuer were insured by National Warranty Insurance Risk Retention Group (“NWIG”) that was purchased directly or indirectly from SC&E Administrative Services, Inc. (“SC&E”), American Prime Asset (“APA”), or Triad Marketing, LLC (“Triad”) prior to June 6, 2003 (a) pursuant to which there is an unreimbursed claim incurred during the term of the VSC or (b) for which there remained an unexpired term on June 6, 2003, or otherwise purchased their VSC from one of the Settling Car Dealers (the “Class”) and participating car dealers.

TCA Staff Tidbit: Extended WarrantyTop Class Actions viewers take note, this is a nationwide class action. It was filed in Nevada State Court, but, the settlement affects everyone nationwide, NOT just the residents of Nevada. This is shaping up to be a HUGE settlement for class members. Each will likely receive upwards of $1,000 – $2,000 each once the vehicle extended warranty class action lawsuit settlement pays out.

Extended WarrantyThe auto/vehicle extended warranty class action lawsuit settlement occurred because SC&E Administrative Services, National Warranty Insurance Risk Retention Group, American Prime Asset, Triad Marketing, LLC filed bankruptcy which caused all of the vehicle extended warranties they had sold to become worthless. Thousands of car owners and car dealers were left out in the cold. This extension was filed because after everyone was paid out they found that thousands of claims were challenged and millions of dollars were left in the class action settlement fund. In addition, the bankrupt entities still had funds left over in their frozen bank accounts which they are paying our to creditors and claimants of this class action. Because of those excess fund claimants should net hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars. If you bought an extended warranty for your car prior to June 6, 2003 and either you weren’t reimbursed for your repair, or you still had time left on your warranty after June 6, 2003, you may be eligible so make sure to submit your claim now! Don’t miss out on what could be hundreds or even THOUSANDS of dollars for you!

I recently received a letter telling me to call NWIG to submitt supporting documentation for my claim. Once I callled they told me I was too late. This is so unfair I purchased an $1800.00 warranty that was null and void. Additionally I had to pay nearly $700.00 for repair cost. Is there any recourse. They have proof that I purchased the insurance as well. And Mr. Wes has no customer service skills and abruptly hung up on me. He was rude as a toad. Help…..

I called NWIG (877) 750-6944 and spoke with Wes.
He advised payments may go out beginning 8/31/10, but that is not deffinite. He also stated that payout will be a percentage.
