FDA Announces Voluntary Recall of Sex Enhancement Products

By John Curran

Sexual Enhancement Drug LawsuitTwo companies have reported to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) that they will be issuing a recall of over-the-counter supplements to improve sex drive because they contain ingredients similar to those found in prescription erectile dysfunction medications including Cialis and Viagra.

Jobbers Wholesale products subject to the recall include Rhino 5 Plus, Maxtremezen and Ezxtenzone. The sex enhancement products contained either the SSRI antidepressant Priligy, which is also indicated for the treatment of premature ejaculations, or the chemical desmethylcarbondenafil, a chemical similar to those used to treat erectile dysfunction. When either ingredient is used to make a sexual arousal supplement or any other preparation, it is restricted to those who have a prescription for those products.

Fossil Fuel Products has also notified the FDA that it is seeking to recall an alternative sexual enhancement aid called RezzRX, which contained a chemical similar to that found in Viagra and also included the active ingredient in Cialis. In addition to the risks for significant blood pressure issues, products containing these chemicals may not be sold over the counter, according to sexual performance product lawsuit lawyers.

These recalls come in the wake of investigations by consumer advocates about the relative efficacy of supplements that are allegedly able to limit the effects of erectile dysfunction or otherwise improve sexual performance. Some buyers have already complained that the marketing materials and labeling were false and/or misleading regarding the potential for improvement while using these products. While small-scale recalls of products that could put people at risk are important to protect public health, a much larger range of offerings from other sexual enhancement product manufacturers may simply not work as well as people who used them thought that they would.

If you or someone you know tried one of these supplements to improve sexual performance and found it lacking, you may have legal options available to you. The first step is determining whether or not you are eligible to do so, which you can find out when you get in touch with one of our partner sexual performance product lawsuit lawyers.
