EA Sports Madden Football Class Action Lawsuit

Emails have reportedly gone out last week to consumers concerning a class action lawsuit filed against EA Sports for alleged price gouging of its football games. If you’re one of the millions of consumers who’ve purchased a Madden NFL title or other EA Sports football game since 2005, you’re eligible to join the class action lawsuit against the company.

 

The EA Sports class action lawsuit was recently certified in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The 2008 lawsuit, titled Pecover v. Electronic Arts, alleges that EA Sports’ exclusive NFL/NFLPA deal for the Madden franchise has resulted in consumers being overcharged. Anyone who has bought an EA Sports Madden NFL, NCAA, or Arena Football title since January 1, 2005 is eligible to join the antitrust class action lawsuit. To remain a class member, you do not have to do anything at this time. However, if you wish to exclude yourself from the class and the potential class action lawsuit settlement, you must submit your request for exclusion by June 25, 2011. (No settlement has been proposed at this time.
