Lipozene and MetaboUp False Advertising Class Action Lawsuit

By Matt O’Donnell

LipozeneMetaboUpObesity Research Institute has been hit with a false advertising class action lawsuit for making claims “too good to be true” about its diet drugs/supplements, Lipozene and MataboUp.

According to the class action lawsuit, Obesity Research Institute uses bold fonts and “official looking seals” on its product packaging that lead consumers to believe that Lipozene and MataboUp diet pills are clinically proven to “reduce pounds of body fat and weight without a change in lifestyle.” The products also misleadingly state that not only users will lose weight merely by taking the product, but that 78% of each pound lost will be pure body fat.

“In reality, the too good to be true claims made by Obesity Research Institute are just that and the Defendant is and has been misrepresenting the effectiveness of its weight loss products to the general public in order to reap windfall profits,” the Lipozene and MataboUp class action lawsuit states.

As a result, consumers have been unfairly duped into paying $29.95 a bottle for diet pills that do not provide the advertising benefits “whatsoever.”

The MataboUp and Lipozene class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of all persons, nationwide, who purchased Obesity Research Institute’s diet products, including a sub-class of California residents who purchased the products. It is seeking class certification, damages and restitution for alleged violations of the Consumers Legal Remedies Act, false advertising, unfair competition, breach of express warranty, and breach of implied warranty.

I actually took some that was maybe a half a bottle left of them and within a month and a half I lost almost 15 pounds. Now I have been trying different ones and they just don’t work the same and I’ve gained some weight back. Does anyone know where to get the GREEN bottle of METABOUP thank you!

  2. Jenifer says:

Idk about the Lipozene working but I did and do take the Metaboup. The Metaboup does work! It gives you energy at the very least. Idk why ppl would believe a campaign that says that all you have to do is take a pill and you’ll lose weight. The original Lipozene campaign never promised a miracle. It said, “you didn’t have to change your CURRENT diet” which means Lipozene is an additive to a diet already in place. A good lawyer would know that and get the makers of the product off! Anyway…. the Metaboup DOES work with your body in a thermogenic way to increase the success of you losing weight.

I took it also and did not lose and weight. I exercised and still did not see a difference in my weight. So, this was false advertising to me, and I am pretty active.

  4. Veronica says:

I had taken loosened back in 2007 for about a month and found out I was pregnant. It had worked. I lost 10 lbs then. I have not had another baby in three years so I just bought two bottles of loosened and one bbottle of metabolic up plus at Wal-Mart Mart yesterday. I am 184 lbs now and I eat healthy. I changed my diet slowly these last five years from total junk ie nutty buddy box a day a case of dew a day to salads 3-6 oz protein twice a day and I like yogurts and coffee and tea now. Still trying to drink more water but I will keep working on it. I am hoping to get down to 120 by this time next year. It takes time and work or nothing happens honestly.

I started taking Lipozene and MetaboUP PLUS about 3 months ago because my doctor told me I had a severe case of edema and that I was so bad I would die if I didn’t lose weight fast. I weighed 315 pounds.

I was looking for something I had used several years ago, but it doesn’t seem to be on the shelves anymore. Then, while I was in Wal-Mart, I saw a display for Lipozene and MetaboUP PLUS, so I decided to give them a try. I’m glad I did, because I began to lose weight immediately, until now, I’m at 285, so I’ve lost 30 lbs. since then.

I think I lost the first 10 lbs. in the first few days, and I sure had to run to the toilet a lot because I was getting rid of a LOT of water all at once. Since then, I’ve been losing water several times a day-but not as much as in the first week. Nonetheless, I AM still losing weight, and my doctor is happy with my progress so far-as am I.

I don’t exercise, as I know I should. Neither fo I take a full dosage. Otherwise, I’m sure I would lose even more weight even quicker, but I’m still happy with my progress so far. I just yesterday, went to Wal-Mart and bought a two-bottle pack of Lipozene and another bottle of MetaboUP PLUS to last for another 2 months. The instructions say to take 2 MetaboUP PLUS once a day. I take 1 a day. Lipozene is supposed to be taken 2 pills a half-hour before each meal, 3 times a day. I take only 2 pills first thing in the morning, along with the other pill.

Bottom line: If you think it hasn’t worked for you, maybe you should give it a little more time for your body to adjust to it. When it came to buying my second box of Lipozene, I almost quit too, because after that initial first 10 lbs. I felt I wasn’t working anymore, but I decided that I would buy it and if it still didn’t work by the time the bottle was empty, then I would quit. Then about a week before the end of the last bottle, and luckily it was on a Saturday, I had to run to the toilet about every half-hour until I lost another 5 lbs of water weight that day, and I’ve been losing since.

You people are really idiots. I was a pro fighter with a 24wins 2losses and 1draw record. Not saying it doesn’t work, but why waste money on some pill which may ave side effects, when all you have to do is put down the sodas and drink water.

Did you know that drinking 2 gallons of water a day, will flush your system from all the toxins and fat. Sure for the first around a week you will pee like a Russian race horse, but your body will adapt and then you will piss as you normal.

Continue to eat just cut down not hard and for heaven’s sake stop eating fast food.

Most of my diet is breakfast: milk, 2 hard boiled eggs, and yogurt, lunch: water, tuna or chicken salad and peach or other fruit, dinner: more water, grilled chicken breast, grapes strawberries or other fruit.

I’m no doctor I just know what I was advised by my trainer and what works for me.

Give this a try for around 2 weeks.

NEWS FLASH You might want to exercise, and more than just lifting a hamburger and soda to your mouth, that’s not weight lifting, LMAO
