T-MobileT-Mobile has been hit with a class action lawsuit accusing it of violating consumer protection laws by collecting customers’ zip codes, addresses, e-mail address, phone numbers and other personal identification information when they make credit card transactions.

According to the T-Mobile class action lawsuit, T-Mobile is violating California’s Song-Beverly Credit Card Act, which makes it unlawful for any retailer to collect personal identification information as a condition of entering into a credit card transaction.

“Nonetheless, T-Mobile’s retail locations routinely required credit card users to enter their private information into T-Mobile’s computer systems in order to make their purchases. These violations carry statutory penalties of up to $1,000 per transaction for repeat offenders,” the Plaintiff’s attorney said in a statement.

The T-Mobile privacy violation class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of all California consumers who were asked to provide their “personal identification information” as a condition to accepting a credit card payment in full or in part for good or services at T-Mobile retail stores. It is seeking the maximum statutory penalty permissible, restitution, disgorgement of T-Mobile’s ill-gotten profits, interest and more.

The T-Mobile Credit Card Privacy Violation Class Action Lawsuit case is Edward Pringle v. T-Mobile USA, Inc., Case No. 12-cv-00132, Superior Court of California, County of Marin.

The Tmobile Store in Costa mesa on Harbor and Wilson Will prank call your cell phone number just to screw you out of a reliable phone number. You come in to complain and they say fill out this credit app so you don’t have to have a pay as you go plan. You will have a more reliable cell service this way.Huh, then you get a letter in the mail saying you did’nt have a credit history that was acceptable. You did not want a credit check just a change of cell phone number. Ok

Yes! This is true…I’ve been battling them over a refund for a payment plan, as they took out two payments automatically from my bank account for one payment plan period. They are thieves and the lie when they say that they will refund the money. They claim that they sent the check, but they keep the funds and want you to say, “uncle!”
