Ford Defective 6.0L Engine Class Action Lawsuit

By Mike Holter

FordA Superior Court class action lawsuit claims Ford knowingly sold vehicles with defective 6.0-liter diesel engines in 2002 that caused numerous problems.

The Ford engine class action lawsuit states that despite being launched with “great fanfare” in 2002, by the end of its short production life, Ford’s 6.0L Engines had unprecedented repair rates, accounted for approximately 80% of all of Ford’s warranty spending on engines, and forced Ford to assemble a team of approximately 70 engineers to assist Ford’s supplier in identifying and resolving problems.

“Ultimately, Ford sued its engine supplier, Navistar, for $493 million for what it termed ‘exceptionally high repair rates and warranty costs due to quality problems attributable to Navistar,’ including ‘design flaws,’” the class action lawsuit continues.

The defective Ford engine class action lawsuit says Ford documents show that (1) Ford knew about issues regarding the 6.0L Engine even before the engine’s launch; (2) the same core concerns persisted throughout Ford’s production and sale of the 6.0L Engine; (3) Ford never had a “definitive repair action” for these issues; (4) most, if not all of these concerns had a “common cause;” and (5) Ford ultimately adopted a band-aid approach to reduce its “warranty spend,” without addressing the “common causes” of these problems.

The Ford defective 6.0L diesel engine class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of all California entities and residents who currently own or lease (or previously owned or leased) a vehicle with a Ford 6.0L diesel engine. It is seeking numerous damages, including:

- Out-of-pocket damages for engine repair/service;
- Deductibles paid when repairs were covered by warranty;
- Towing charges incurred from having incapacitated vehicles towed in for repair;
- Lost profits from the inability to use vehicles when the engine failed, the vehicle being stored at a Ford dealership awaiting repair, or the vehicle being insufficiently reliable to be put into service;
- Cost to overhaul or replace the defective 6.0L Engines;
- Diminution in value of the vehicles due to the defect;
- Decreased trade-in or selling value; and more.

A copy of the Defective Ford 6.0L Diesel Engine Class Action Lawsuit can be read here.

The case is David L. Adams v. Ford Motor Co., Case No. 37-2012-00091290-CU-BC-CTL, Superior Court of the State of California, County of San Diego.

My understanding is judge is to make a decision on 5/23 I hope somebody does something. My husband has a 2005 F350 for his work. Great Truck right? Wrong. Get this paid Big Bucks for this truck and to date have spent... Are you sitting down... 23,600 dollars on repairs. Injectors, Turbo injectors, glo plugs, The list is on-going Have a stack of repairs from "one" Ford dealership... Way to go Ford you sucked us into buying your awesome truck, then while knowing selling a piece of junk engine with all these problems you are supporting your repair shops with an additional 23,600 hundred dollars. Great business decision making lots of profit on your part.. American built Ford Truck?... Really

Let's see....I sold my 1999 Expedition 5.4 with 194,000 miles on it (ran great!) thinking I was upgrading to bigger and better things. I've owned my 2003 6.0 Excursion for a little over a year now, and I've had to replace 2 fuel injectors (1300.00), oil pump TWICE IN 3 MONTHS (1800.00 for first one, 2nd one was under warranty by repair shop) and the FICM (600.00). Figures, warranty was up in 6 months after purchase (bullshit happened a MONTH later!) Luckily, the poor sap that owned before my had already replaced the EGR cooler. This is a great engine-WHEN it's running properly! I had to get another car (Mitsubishi, that I actually drove across the COUNTRY and NEVER broke down!) just to have a backup vehicle WHEN (not IF) this POS breaks down again. Ford, you suck for knowingly selling us 6.0 owners your factory defects! I will NEVER buy another Ford again!

My wife bought me a 2005 superduty as a x mas present before making our second payment engine had major internal engine failure. Cost us 8,000.00 plus for used engine 3,400 miles later having to change injectors 1,500 warranty company for used engine won't even return our calls. How does a guy in AZ get in on this lawsuit or start my own?

Bought one when my first one under warranty blew its engine...new on has been in shop 8 times er aftebreakdowns on long hauls with horses. Engine rebuiult $6,000. three radiators, four turbo charger repairs, Transmission drop, total out of pocket repair exceeds $10,000 with anoter $1000 in the shop now for a leak related to the engine repair. Late payments caused by excessive repair bills, credit. damaged etc. We are in the horse business and intend to add signs to our rig outlining repair bills and poor service by ford. As a kid I always heard ford stood for Found On the Road Dead...it appears to be true!

I bought my truck new in 2006. I wanted a ford. I RESEARCHED before I bought it. I had no problems until 85,000 miles and I "bullet proofed" it. Truck runs great. The 6.0 is a great motor. It's not ford. It's the EPA! Take the emissions bs off like the EGR valve and throw some head studs in there, upgrade the oil cooler, your golden.

Watch the " powerstroke perfect storm" on YouTube and you will see.

Every truck has its problems weather it be duramax with their injectors ($3,000) or a dodge with their lets put new ball joints on every 25k miles.

6.7a are great. I have 3 but I still drive my 06 6.0 as my daily driver. It has 525 hp, pulls 12,000 lb CAT every week, and passes an emissions check! What else do you want?

If you want plastic... Buy a dodge

If you want a great reliable truck buy a bullet proof 6.0!!

2006 6.0 SD King Ranch FX4 with 103,000 miles. Extremely clean truck I bought at CARMAX. I am the 3rd owner. Truck ran great the first two weeks until I tried to pull a 10k travel trailer on the interstate at 70 mph. Engine immediately went into “Fail Safe/ Limp Home” mode. Took it to Ford dealership and they began to educate me on all the problems listed in this thread. They diagnosed it and said new TURBO needed and EGR valve. Took it to CARMAX since it is under their 30 day warranty and they confirmed new TURBO assembly, EGR valve, and compressor boost hose. I am certain this is just the beginning. I have not even made my first payment! WTF!!!

I have a 2005 Econoline van 6.0. Have had it towed several times, replaced egr and multiple other things. It is going to be sold as soon as this lawsuit is settled.

#176 JohnT 2013-04-19 00:03
I'm another "me-too" victim of the Ford 6.0L lie. 2004 with a blown EGR cooler. Ford replaced the EGR valve twice and refused to change it a third time under warranty, even though it was completely clogged. They never bothered to change the EGR cooler now I'm stuck with a huge bill.

#173 Brian W. 2013-04-13 20:03
What really gets my blood boiling is how all the mechanics that work on these 6.0 boat anchors will keep you stringing along with the promise of how if you just do this that and the other thing you will have a bulletproof 6.0. The facts are that the 6.0 is so plagued with problems that you will never have a reliable engine, and all the money in the world will just postphone another breakdown. The 6.0 is just flat garbage and ford sucks.

#172 Brad 2013-04-13 13:00
I have one of the original 03 6.0L engines that I purchased in the end of 2002. I have recently started experiencing issues with the EGR and cooler. With only 67K miles on the vehicle, I am disappointed that I will end up spending approximately 7,500 to fix my truck. I hope that this lawsuit will provide assistance in the repair costs.

#171 Don 2013-04-12 22:11
Oh and I also forgot that I have replaced 4 ficm parts at $700 dollars each . Ford should have stayed with the good ol 7.3

#170 Don 2013-04-12 22:01
I sure wish this suit was happening in Canada , I have a 2005 f350 with the famous 6.0 engine . It has 123,000 miles on it , so far in the last 6 months I have had to put all new injectors , head gaskets egr delete kit , and oil cooler . Then not even 3 months later a piston cracked in half so then I had to order a short block from Oregon and had my heads rebuilt and new head gaskets again then put all my parts on the new motor . My first bill for repairs was $7000 then the second repairs that were done was 10,000. This thing is bankrupting me.

#169 Elena 2013-04-12 14:58
I purchased a 2005 superduty. I had to take it back to the dealership several times to have it worked on. Then, driving to my ranch in Eastern Oregon, the truck burst into flames 11 miles from my ranch. Within 2 minutes, it was totally engulfed in flames. I barely got out in time. I lost computers, cameras, everything! It literally burned to the frame. The pavement was damaged so badly that I even had to pay for the road to be re-paved. The brush fire spread over approximately 2 acres. While trying to retrieve my purse from the cab, flames were so intense that I was singed. Once I grabbed my purse and started to run away from the truck, at about 15 feet from the truck, the air bag cannisters exploded. It was horrible!

#168 Doug & Tracy 2013-04-11 16:47
We bought a 2003 F250 6.0L for $7,250.00 just to pull our 5th wheel and now we have put $6,000.00 of repairs into this truck and now it just quit. We bought it used but a diesel engine should go a long way if it is properly maintained. It is a money pit and should have never been allowed for resale and should have been recalled as a defective product. All I want is my money back for the repairs so I can go buy a different truck that is suitable for its purpose. I would like to be included in this suit.

I'm in the same boat here only had my f250 6.0l for about an yr and already put $4000, and now I need repair my head gaskets. This is not right, I'm an single father and need my truck to work to make extra ends. Ford PLEASE HELP ME!!!

#166 Duane and Dianna 2013-04-09 21:09
We have a 2004 F250 money pit. I can't believe a company as big as Ford would screw so many people and not even acknowledge they had an inferior product. We called the local dealer we purchased the truck from new in 2004 and you'd think we had the plague. What happened to customer care.Word of mouth is the best and worst advertising for a company. We have nothing good to say about the way we have been treated.

#165 James Quinn 2013-04-08 12:30
I have a 2005 6.0 which has been plagued by oil leaks from the rear main and now from the high pressure oil pump. $2100 and still leaking after being fixed by Ford mechanic.

#164 Ken 2013-04-07 14:53
I currently have a 2003 F350 with the same problems. It has never ran correctly since its first minor warranty repair. At this time unable to repair. Parts cost more than these trucks are worth. I would like to be included in this law suite.

#163 Brian W. 2013-04-06 11:37
I agree with Marco I think that Ford is holding hands with the Government and they love the 6.0. Look at the thousands of city, county, and state owned 6.0 Fords are running around your town. They have the same problems that we have with the 6.0 liter boat anchors that we can't afford to repair, but they can afford to keep repairing theirs with our tax dollars. All the while Ford is stuffing their pockets. Ford just flat suck big ones and I will never buy another one new or used

#162 Chris 2013-04-05 20:35
I was suckered into buying an 05 with the 6.0 diesel; it was the biggest POS I've ever owned. Ford should (if they have any morals whatsoever) compensate every individual who has purchased their garbage. I had almost $10,000.00 in repairs and only God knows how much profit my business lost in downtime. My truck had loads of engine problems. Ford is not willing to do anything to make it right, that is NOT the American way. If they ever produce a diesel that is reliable (or even bullet proof) they can shove it up their a$$ as I will never give Ford another dime as long as I live.

61,000 2006 f250 hydro locked motor, ford does nothing to help. My god 61,0000 miles is new for a diesel engine and would think being FORD SUED NAVISTAR and Won it would help it's customer out with this defective engine. FORD does nothing but takes the money and run which is highway robbery in my book, wait its ok for large corporations to screw the little guy and get away with it. If I walked into a store and took $100 worth the crap I would be in jail. FORD screws over its customer to the tune of millions and it’s ok. I would like to join the ford class action lawsuit with hopes of FORD helping its customers, but from the looks of things FORD doesn’t have to do shit because it has the government behind them. Government= lobster dinners and extremely high paying jobs with no taxes because there’re better than the average citizen…….Geeee ez I wonder where ford gets this screw the customer attitude problems from…..hhhhmmmm m! I made my first payment on this vehicle yesterday and am forced to let it sit in my driveway because FORD SUCKS!

I would like to join too. My 2006F250 6.0 lost the egr cooler and paid 4500.00 to replace it because it was past the 5 year warrenty. Truck only has 74000 miles on it.

I can not even start to tell you all the problems I have had with my truck I am a single mom getting no child support so needless when it broke down on me over 200 miles from home and cost me almost $500.00 to have it brought back home I have not had the money to get it fixed . This was just last week . I have had injectors replaced 4 times ,EGR twice and a whole lot more . I wish I never got it I cant keep it running and it is breaking me . I don't know what to do this time I know I have lost injectors again but I am not sure what else it just starting smoking real bad and I lost ALL POWER . I had my little boy and two horse sitting on the side of 295 for over 4 hours and Lord knows it is not the first time . I have well over 20,000 grand in the truck and would give any thing if they would just replace it with the new 7 . I am very anal about keeping my truck serviced and have ALL service records and I will say it is not cheep to keep a diesel serviced right . Like I said as of know mine is sitting at my house and I am tapped out so I have no clue what to do know . I pro rodeo and this is costing me big time because I have no way to get to the shows . I have sponsors who pay all my feed hay and up keep of my horses but if I am not able t0o go out and win than I will loose my sponsor witch means I will loose my horses and they are nbot live stock to me they are family . I have owned 4 Fords and after all I have been though I WILL NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER buy another if they do not make right by this . THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP ANDY ONE MAY GIVE TO LEAD ME IN TH RIGHT DIRECTION TO GTE THEM TO PAY THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS

Bought a 2004 brand new F250 Diesel with approx. 15 miles on it and it did not even make it home to our door HAD TO PUSH IT HOME. It was $45K so I made sure FORD Replaced this one - took 2 weeks. This new one's motor died in 2006, and then that one died in 2012. It is CURRENTLY on its THIRD motor which cost approx. $ 16,000!!! Oh I do hope FORD reimburses us.

#156 BBaker 2013-03-29 09:42
2005 f350 dually diesel 13000 miles truck died. ford replaces heads. was told they new they had a problem with engine. then coolers, 4 or more sets of injectors. instrument clusters. front end, repeated rear seal. The list goes on. Years of fuel additive to prolong injectors. Thousands of dollars paid. At 160,000 mile everytime a leak was repaired another one appears. Ford shop stated the engine pressure created more leaks. Need to overhaul. $6000.00 to overhaul and reseal entire engine. Would be a gamble if a month later engine fails. Just replaced engine $14000.00 2 year warranty unlimited miles. Came with injectors, cooler ect. Better then 60,000.00 for new truck.

#155 Terry Johnson 2013-03-28 08:46
03 Excursion 6.0 truck in shop now. Contacted Ford Headquarters and spoke to representative, advised to take truck to dealer to get diagnostics. Few years ago Turbo and Oil Canister blew, paid that out of pocket, no warranty. Now, truck is stalling and sounds like it is going to explode, obviously engine problem. I hope I am part of this class action lawsuit, and be able to get some kind of reimbursement.

#154 Arend 2013-03-27 13:20
I have a 2005 King Ranch with now 128,000 Miles on it. Three EGR Cooler, Three Oil Coolers, Countless injectors,, blah blah blah... I just put a new EGR COOLER and OIL COOLER at 122,000 miles and it is now broke again, the suspect is a High Pressure Oil Leak. I spent 50K for the truck and thousands on towing and repairs etc... Ford knew about this 6.0 problem however continued to tout about their Trucks "Best in their Class" and "Built Ford Tough", the dealership indicated I should get 300,000 miles no problem, and yet, my truck hasn't even made it to the half way marker. 'Bullet Proof' is a company out of Arizona who has engineered a aftermarket solution to all of our 6.0 problems and has put a life time guarantee on it, so that said, FORD should "step up to the plate" and do a TOTAL RECALL and send these trucks in to have them "Bullet Proofed" (of course at their expense.) Like the rest of you people, I AM PISSED!!! I have a truck that is worthless and have suffered financial injury as a result of FORD'S deception. Frankly, I SHOULD be able to sell my Diesel for around 30K (plus or minus a few K) but that is not possible as the truck(s) are not merchable, anyone who knows anything about the 6.0 diesel WILL NOT BUY THEM, Moreover, FORD was only willing to give me 7K on a trade in. The Irony is; FORD (knowing there is a problem with this truck) is STILL willing to resale them on their lot(s), talk about double jeopardy fraud RIGHT!!! I say to all of you, exclude yourselves from this class action suit as it was MORE-THAN-LIKEL Y implemented BY FORD as a way to get rid of the liability... IN the end, we will lose and FORD and their Attorney's will enjoy the benefits... Best advice is go after FORD as an 'Individual' Perhaps even a 'Interstate Small Claims' at very least. Good Luck to you all. P.S. we should share information regarding our Truck(s) as needed to pursue these claims. 661.733.5035...

#150 craig Miller 2013-03-20 20:51
TO ADD TO MY LAST STATEMENT , RIGHT NOW THE SHOP HAS DETERMINED THAT ALL INJECTORS NEED TO BE REPLACED AND EGR SYSTEM IS PLUGGED AND NEED A DELETE OR COMPLETE CLEANING AND IF THEY DETECT CONTAMINATION IN COOLANT OR OIL THEN COMPLETE HEAD REPLACEMENT THE LOW SIDE TO REPAIR IS ESTIMATED AT $6500 TO HIGH SIDE OF $11000 ?????? THIS SHOULD FALL UNDER A CRIMINAL ACT /FRAUD

#149 craig Miller 2013-03-20 20:28
purchased a 2003 6.0 diesel NEW and as of today have only 75k miles it has gone thru 2 intercoolers 1 turbo charger and at approx 50k miles it was hard starting cold and I told service this and they said it "was normal" then it got worse and worse I complained to service again and they said I was OUT OF WARRANTY by 6 months so go pound sand I complained to factory and they said they would not cover it due to being over the 5 years by 6 months even though I
broght it to their attention while under the 5 year deadline at this time the truck only had 55k miles on it ?? the cost to repair was estimated at approx $6000 and my extended warranty denied my claim due to It was lifted?? I do not have the money to repair at this time so it has been sitting and barely starts runs terrible I cannot even sell it in this condition without a terrible loss I payed 45k new and with other upgrades I have a total Investment "so far" of 75k ??? this is TERRIBLE AND FORD SUCKS HUGE AT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HONOR !!!

WOW!!! I have read all these post and sounds like me and my issues with my 04 F350. Over 8K in engine repairs and now looking at another 6K to 10K for a problem with the heads leaking fuel into the coolant. Five months ago I had all the injector cups and two injectors replaced, and now this. FIMC, EGR, oil cooler yea I have been down the road too. 135,000 miles truck looks like a model easy towing miles but all these problems. How do I get in on this lawsuit?

#140 Pat Austin 2013-03-12 14:17
My employer was told the same as most of you, that we were the only ones having this problem. I work for a steel company where we use our 2004 F-450 as a work truck. In 05, the boss paid over $42,000 for the vehicle. Since then, have put $30,000 into repairs, more than 80% of that went into this engine. My boss said fuck it! We're not dumping any more money into this p.o.s. We didn't even catch wind of this lawsuit until today. We have a whole fleet of various vehicles; however, my boss says he will NEVER EVER purchase a Ford ever again.

I bought my 06 F350 after owning 3 7.3 power strokes with no problems. It blew head gaskets at 3000 miles, 12,000, 26,000, 36,000 and 92,000. Replaced 5 sets head gaskets, FICM, computer,3 EGR valves, transmission, 2 inter coolers and a turbo plus 2 sets of heads. Ford told me I was the only one having problems.; It has been in the shop 23 times for MAJOR repairs. Customer loyalty means nothing to Ford.

I have a 2005 6.0 diesel. I have been trying to trade it. As far as I know there is nothing wrong with it. Dealer will not give me anything for it. I have spent a 1,000 dollars on the electoral system. computer went out of it.

#135 Jim 2013-03-04 23:34
I purchased a F250 6.0L. I have replaced the head gaskets, HPOP, FICM, three Injectors, Alternator, EGR cooler (x2) then installed EGR delete, ICP plus time lost for repairs. I have always liked Ford trucks and after this truck I don't think that I want another Ford truck. I could have spend the repair money in better places.

#134 John T E 2013-03-02 17:47
I have spent over $5,000 at Bruce Walter's Ford dealership on the EGR valve and cooler, oil cooler, high pressure oil pump, fuel injector and other fuel injectors need to be replaced now. How can I become part of this lawsuit?

I have a 2006 F350, bought it with 130k, now has 200k,

I have done a majority of all repairs myself, egr delete, 2 oil coolers, 3 injectors, opened up the exhaust, all new HPO system, numerous sensors, some of them several times, deathwobble http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=f250+deathwobble&oq=f250+deathwobble&gs_l=youtube.12...2811.9216.0.10950.20.17.0.0.0.0.500.703.2-1j5-1.2.0...0.0...1ac.1.UqfM-_m8ibs

I have a 2006 F350 6.0L. It only has 62K miles so far. We've only started having issues with leaking head gasketts. We bought the truck from a private seller 2 years ago and haven't had any issues until recently. How would we go about getting some further information about the lawsuit etc.

#129 Cindy 2013-03-01 12:26
I have a 2003 F250 Diesel engine. I have had 2 fuel leaks. The Ford dealership in FL fixed it the 1st time. Then a couple years later I took the truck in for a filter change because it didn't have any power. I had my horse trailer gooseneck, going up and down hills. And I had no power. We were so afraid we weren't going to make it. While the mechanic was changing filter he called to let me know I had a fuel leak. This time it cost me 1000.00

#128 Brian M. 2013-02-27 17:15
No wonder Ford Motor Company didn't need a government bail out like Chevy and Mopar did. All of us 6.0 litre owners bailed them out with the money they made with parts and repairs. They must have some real good public relations people running that outfit.

#127 Brian M. 2013-02-27 16:56
I bought a 2004 F-450 Flatbed with a 6.0 litre diesel in 2009 to use for my buisness. It had 64K miles on it when I bought it. I didn't even drive it for 6 months and it was in the shop for expensive repairs, FICM, Turbo, Injectors. Not a Ford shop they just laughed at me and told me I should change my oil more often. I bought more Delo 400 and fuel and air filters for that truck than all the other vehicles I have owned in my life combined. I put about 20K Miles on it in 3 years and it started to puke again. The Ford dealer wanted to give me chicken feed for it and trade it in on a new Ford. I told them them they could stick their Super duty's where the sun don't shine and got chicken scratch for it at a Dodge dealer. At least it isn't stuck here in my driveway waiting for a tow. Shame on Ford Motor Company. I will not even accept a ride in a Ford.

2005 f-350 Business Veh. Under 30k the wiring harness was replaced after 3 x's to the Dealer repair. Check engine light, into Rancho Ford Temecula, Ca. they can't find and issue. I take I to a Diesel Mach. and the replace the turbo (HAS A CHUNK OF SIDE WALL CRACKED AND BLOWN OUT), oil all over the engine compartment. RanchoFord could not find the issue? Ford demands the core be returned before getting new FORD part. Many photo's of that item were taken on repair day. $1700 repair bill. Needs top end valve job, soon according to my new repair shop. They stated this is typical, about $8,000 in total repair cost to get it in top shape for a reliable business truck. Flawed development of the 6.0 diesel engine, pay up FORD. Current mileage is 60k. Sign me up for the suit!

i have a 2004 f550 4x4 that is a wrecker and as of 2-20-13 i took the wrecker bed off because the 6.0 motor quit running again. i had it fixed in nov.2012 and it quit running in jan. 2013 and they told me it was not under warranty.so i told ford not to repair. i have several repair bills that i had to pay to have fixed over the years,i bought the truck brand new.so i say THANKS TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY for a not so well done job GO 6.0
FORD WILL NOT STAND BEHIND YOU

#124 Troy 2013-02-26 18:09
My 04 F250 6.0 spit an injector nozzle into the #3 cylinder and then out thru one of the two exhaust valves, bending it in the process, which caused the valve to break off, rattle around in the cylinder, destroying the piston and cylinder wall in the process, it then spit the chunk of valve out thru the exhaust and thru the turbo. Can you say CATASTROPHIC engine FAILURE? How about $15 K to replace a motor? Ford better damn well come up with a LARGE reimbursement, and when they do a new Duramax will end up in my driveway. Even if they don't, there's gonna be a new bowtie in town.

#123 Tom 2013-02-25 22:25
I might ad that mine is a 2006 F350 with under 130,000 miles.

#122 Tom 2013-02-25 22:21
I just spent $3000 on engine repairs related to the EGR, FICM, FUEL INJECTORS etc. I even had the repairs done at a FORD dealer as they were offering a warranty on repairs where no one else in my area would. I would also like to be kept in the loop on any pending lawsuit.

#121 Jacqui Carrington 2013-02-25 21:55
2300.00 for fuel injectors, less than 90,000 miles. sensors keep blowing. I have parked the 2006 in garage. Entire truck was customized, spending over 45000.00 for outside custom work. I rarely drive it due to expensive repairs.

#120 melvin bevans 2013-02-25 19:12
Have you the right Melvin O. Bevans? I don't believe I have ever owned or had a Ford, much less one with a 6.0 liter diesel engine.

I had an 04 F250 that at one point would accelerate on its own hard enough that it drove me into the middle of an intersection with me standing on the brakes. I had it at the dealer numerous times and they never did find anything wrong with it. Finally, it was at the dealer and they drove it out of warranty then washed their hands of the whole thing. I took them to small claims court and since it was out of warranty, I was given no help at all. Then after the warranty was over, they finally had some fix that would take care of the issue and I HAD TO PAY FOR THE WHOLE THING. They’ve lost me as a customer FOREVER. How do I get involved with this lawsuit so that I can get them to pay for some of my costs? I’ve since dumped the truck. The truck was originally blue but when I sold it, it was green from all the green blood I shed over it.

Received a court (Federal of Northern Illinois) authorizred notice of class action suite. Ford's proposed settlement offer in my opinion is grossly inadequate and I plan on excluding myself from suite!

#114 Jack 2013-02-24 14:33
I have a 04, 6.0 F350 longbed now with 146K, second owner. It's now laid up with $5000 worth of repairs. Primarily the head gasket from the bolts stretching. The diesel specialists I took it to are giving me a break on the labor because of all the other parts they have to take off and eventually replace because of the track history of this model. hopefully after this is done the engine compartment will be bullet proof. Sadly, I keep on talking to owners that spend 6 to 12K to fix these engine problems. Please keep me informed and I would be interested in joining this suit.

#113 Ron 2013-02-24 13:25
I bought an 06 ford F 350 in early 2006. I have owned many fords throuout the years. I still have have a 99 F350 and I have never had problems with it. My 06 has been in the shop MANY times. I have had to have it towed on four different occasions, one of the times I was about 180 miles away from home and in the middle of nowhere. When my truck got to 150000 miles the engine went out on it and I had to have it replaced at my expense. Ford should have stepped up and taken care of their loyal customers. I will be forced to buy a truck from another company for fear that I will have the same problem again.
Thanks Ford

I have a 06 250 and since I live so far from ford I do most of the repairs myself. I replaced the ficm, replaced the EGR. Now I think it needs a new turbo, something making a humming noise. Brake pads and rotors made noise so replaced them with drilled and sloted rotor and ceramic pads. Just under 80,000 miles.

I bought a f550 work truck brand new in 04. binging a small 1 man company this was a big move. in the first few months it was back to ford more times than i used it then the tranny went at 11,000 miles. its been down hill since then. 26 break downs, 3 tow jobs, 2 egrs, alt, water pump, egr cooler, oil cooler, 2 egrs, 4 inj, 2 control mods ,turbo, turbo hoses fuel tank other crap ford wood lie about. I had to learn how to do my own repairs cause it cost to much to take it in when you hit 100,000 miles.it sat for 10 months 1 time so i could pay to fix it. tryed to trade it in but wood loose so much it makes me ill. i guess i am lucky cause i got 156000 miles on it and it runs some days, and now the head gas. egr,oil coolers are bad again, now ford says they will give me $2000 for a trade on a new ford. like i wood ever ever own or drive a ford again. you can call me a chevy man now.

I did the egr cooler, oil cooler, egr valve, head gasket, headbolt. I got a lot of money in this truck. So I would like to get on this law suite. nothing but problme

#107 Brian 2013-02-22 22:05
I bought a 2003 F-450 4x4 with a 6.0 powerplant and paid cash for the truck. Not even driving it a year and replaced turbine, injectors, FICM, injector harness, EGR cooler. and numerous other items and still have nothing but problems with it. I am so pissed at Ford I can't even see straight. I am a family man and just need a reliable truck to drive to work not a $20,000 dollar boat anchor. I will never, ever buy another Ford new or used.

#106 John Pullins 2013-02-22 18:28
I had an F-250 6 liter 2005 and I paid it off before I retired in 2010. At 50000 miles the engine went out on December 23, 2011 while traveling and the Ford dealer I limped it to said the EGR valve caused a problem and it would cost nearly $7,000 to fix. I traded it right there and transfered my things to an older van just to get home.

#105 Mike 2013-02-22 17:44
Attorneys are going to split 12.8 million plus 1.25 million in fees and expenses and I'm going to get a couple of hundred dollars for something that cost me thousands to fix. WTF? Does this make sense to you? This pisses me off!!!!!!!!!

#104 Mike 2013-02-22 17:37
This lawsuit is a joke. Read the part about attorneys fees, and expenses versus what the truck owner will be reimbursed. Looks like the lawers are the only ones coming out on top. I will excluded myself and take other means of recourse.

I bought my 2004 F350 6.0 ltr Powerstroke in May 2009. Less than 500 mi. into it FICM went kuput, $2,183.14. The first shop couldn't find problem, $245.44. Then Nov. '09, Injection pressure control regulator, $1,410.59. Then, Nov. '10 EGR Cooler, $1,493.48. That also took out my injectors, $1,831.60. Then, Oil injection pump & injection pressure regulator, $2,619.92. This truck has been a living nightmare. I hope Ford comes through for usby far

Another nightmare story about the ford6.0...I have a 03 f450, paid $41,000.00.. problem #1- wiring harness, #2- egr valve at 99,737 miles #3 head gasket and cracked head,Purvis Ford in Fredericksburg, VA laughed at me, #4 oil pump, egr cooler, #5- new turbo and 8 new injectors,#-6 Currently in shop for head gaskets again, truck now has 132,000 miiles on it. It's ashame you can't get 150,000 mile on a vehicle that you paid so much money for. So far I have spent $14,795.14 on repairs to this engine, looking to spend another $2500.00 to repair item # 6. That means I will have spent $17,295.00.. The problems began when I made the last payment on it.FORD backward DROF-- Driver Returns On Foot. Bought first new ford in 1970 , my last in 2006...Will never buy another. If any one know how to get in on this class action law suit please let me know.540-775-98 01..

I purchased my 2005 Ford Excursion 6.0 Diesel in Nov 2004 in Yuba City, Ca I have had trouble with it since I believe july 2005. First all my electrical went out will I was driving lights, windows, door locks, radio, cd player, all electrical went off but vehicle still run. They found nothing wrong. Then I was driving down road and it started dying and cutting out and no acceleration they found nothing wrong, then periodically I will have same electrical problems but not all at same time. still find nothing wrong. Then i would be driving and it would die and I had to have it towed to shop and ficm went out and I paid to have it replaced and found out later it had a recall but I missed out on it because I had already paid for it. I am still having trouble with all electrical and power and fuel systems but they can't find anything wrong with it. They say it won't code on the shop machines, this is part of the electrical problems. They won't listen to me. Also I called about recalls and non and I was not informed until today that I could file a complaint, which I did today, but they said it would take a while and it may not help anything. I have been fighting with this for 9 years, all other VIN#'s on my car a recalled but not mine. I need help.

#96 Michael 2013-02-05 12:44
Bought new 04 6.0 and have had the same problems others have stated. Have replaced turbo, wire harness relay, and injectors within the first 50k miles. The truck is now at 70k miles and will need the same repairs to the Egr and oil cooling system, replace all injectors to be servicable agian, at a quote of $8500. All together will have paid another $15k for a truck with 70k miles.

2006 F-250 New injectors (All), new transmission, EGR 2 years ago, oil pump and the list goes on and on and...... The truck looks great but it's the biggest piece of crap I've ever owned. Chances are, this lawsuit like many others will get shuffled around for years before anything, if any, ever happens and adverage working person like myself will be out 1,000's of dollars and no vehicle in many cases with no help from a company we trusted. I've owned 6 other Fords and after this experience this will probably be my last. Not that Ford actually cares about that since as they say, "One is born every second."

ya it seems as if we are singing to the quier .most of these law suits end up in the legal representing law firm,s pockets .my 2004 diesel has been a piece of crap since I bought it the value of it has gone away so I can't afford to trade it and or sell it as so many diesel truck people know the history of these trucks.coolant bypass system ,injectors, turb os oil leeks transmissions wireing harnesses etcetcetc .

i traded in an '02 duramax with 150,000 trouble free miles for '05 f350 with 83,000 miles on it. i now have spent on addtional $10,000 on repairs for this pc. of crap and it is back in the shop again. i can't afford any more problems and i fear its not over. ford is still making lots of money off this junkers in repair cost. im tired of getting screwed. they can have the truck, i want my money back! no more fords for me!

I have also had the same problems with my '07, 6.0 liter F250. EGR Cooler and Head gaskets both replaced at around 60,000 miles. I'm currently looking to get in on a class action law suite as everyone else is. Any information given would be appreciated. I am a Florida resident.

#83 Ramon Herrera 2013-01-03 13:03
Bought the 6.0 at Gaudden Ford in Las Vegas for the use of a service truck for our business and it has had more troubles than any other Ford we have owned and it is down again. No one cares, especially the Ford Company. I want to be part of this class action suit.

#82 Ed Havasu 2013-01-02 20:38
06 F250 4x4. I have had the mid pan gasgets replaced. Head Gasgets, oil cooler, EGR valve, thrermostat, instrument cluster, turbo, blue curved connector replaced over the past 3 years. The truck has 76,000 miles on it. All service intervals completed, oil change every 4,000 miles with filter, fuel filters every 8,000. My main gripe you can't get rid of the truck, no one wants it. Ford offered me $12,000 on a trade. This sucks

#81 Issa 2012-12-31 16:59
I have a 6.0 L diesel 2005 excursion. Everything is wrong with the engine. Just spent another $2600 fixing engine. Now they another $7000 to repair all the oil leaks, EGR and cooler. Isn't that nice. It is leaking oil just about from all gaskets and pouring out at times. When are we going to get this law suite going. I hope Ford reads these forums.

This is my first truck I ever had. I bought this truck off of the guy for $7,500. i didn't know this truck would've been a big money pit i would've never got this truck. I put $1300 in to the truck the 1st month i had it. Now its running like crap this past month i had to put $1000 in to it luckily i work for ford and get employees discount on parts i done most of the labor. That saved me alot of money the heater value gone out i replaced that to find out someone put stop leak in the radiator flushed most i can out of that to find the leak. Now being i found the leak its dealing with the egr. My cousin also has a 6.0 he just put $3000 in the motor and again doing the work himself. He replace his hea d bolts, hi presser oil pump, put and egr delete, oil filter relocate kit that replaces the oil cooler and a bunch of other stuff. I have an 04 f250 with the 6.0 i dont have the $3000just in parts to blow just to keep this thing on the road.

05 F250 6.0 - Bought new, first trouble at 4k miles, blowing white smoke at 26k miles. EGR cooler, EGR valve, oil cooler replaced at 76k, 91k. Head gaskets and "new" studs at 91k. Turbo replaced at 128k, along with another EGR valve, EGR cooler, oil cooler. Now have fuel in the coolant. Further, the dealership did not follow Ford's TSB specs..... although it may not have helped. Ford and local dealership will do nothing. I have never seen this scope of catastrophic failure in any vehicle. Please hold Ford accountable.

I have a '06 f250 with just under 51K miles as of today. I have had the dealship rebuild the turbo charger twice (under warrantee). Each time I got a check engine light, which is back on. This time I have scheduled to take it into a custom diesel truck mech. to replace the turbo and to do alot of prevent items that he has suggested that Ford and others mech. and other ford diesel owners have reported problems with. Total cost is around $7800.00. Most of this out of pocket cost is labor, the better turbo and replacement parts to prevent the problems with defictive components. I to am interested in this class action suit.

Bought our 04 new, lots of repairs in the last 2 years and the most recent involved the engine shutting down on the high way with no warning. We would greatly appreciate someone sharing the name of a law firm still actively taking clients. We have emailed and left messages with a few law offices advertising for this lawsuit and have had no response. Thank s, "Over 12k in the hole in KCMO"

I have an 05 f250 with the 6.0 liter engine. The truck has 135,000 miles with 125,000 of them towing a 5th wheel. I had several issues covered under the warrantee. I have been happy with the truck and engine until the past 6 months. I spent over $5,000 trying to solve a problem of lack of power and acceleration after a cold start. Now I have diesel fuel in the coolant with an estimate of $3,000 to fix. I am frustrated and am interested in the class action suit.

#73 Michael Burch 2012-11-25 21:23
Had nothing but problems with my diesel. Turbo has been replace numerous times although the ford mechanics have no idea what their doing. They always said the problem is fixed as I drive down the road with black smoke pouring out my exhaust and the truck is barely driveable. Name the part an it's been replaced.

#72 Richard 2012-11-18 15:21
LOTS OF PROBLEMS LIKE EVERY ONE ELSE. I STILL HAVE NOT SEEN ANY INFORMATION AS TO HOW WE CAN JOIN THIS LAWSUIT. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT WE HAVE TO DO?

#71 John Eeverson 2012-11-12 13:51
Im have a lot of the same problems others are having. Oil leaks, blowing out sensors, had to install a new turbo and npow having problems withj this turbo. I'm even having trannsmition problems and 4x4 problrems, it does go into 4x4 low, i now have to install a new drivers side hub, passenger rear wheel axle seal leaking. with all the oil leaking from this truck it has ruined my brand new driveway because the oil has and is eating up the ashphalt. How can I get in on the law suit???

I purchased 03 F250 SD at the end of May 12, with 72k+mi, not knowing the issues of the engine. Thinking Ford diesel engines where the best back in 98'when I used to sell fords. I have only put maybe a thousand miles on it and had to replace the EGR valve (not covered in extended warrantee) warrantee company told there is a leak in heads, they won't fix unless there is a "catastrophic failure". That was at the beginning of October. Two Weeks later engine heads blown. Warrantee company won't cover work, saying egr cooler failed causing the engine to fail. Now i'm looking at around $8k to get it fixed. Ford said they wouldn't give me much for it even if I fix it, they don't want it, but would sell me another truck with the 6.4l. Really!! I am very interested in getting in on this classes action lawsuit. Btw...I had to spend $145 out of pocket for towin, not including what my INS Co paid. I bought truck to get a toy hauler. Got toy hauler and truck broke down the first Time taking it out, toy hauler weighs 6,500lbs. Now i'm paying for a toy hauler that I can't use because I don't have a working truck. Thanks FORD!

I have a 2005 F250 6.0 super duty truck. It has about 72,000 miles. I've already put over $5,000 in repairs into it, including a new EGR cooler, oil cooler, head gasket, and much more. Does anyone know how to find out more about this class action lawsuit and how to join it?

I have a 07 bought new have had rear main dummie plugs turbo eye cooler, this was done under warranty thank god. Has 93000 on it has no power 8mpg towing, 13 down hill with the key off all around. I have friends with half ton gas that run away from this thang. I have always been a gord guy but this is crazy. I don't know what to do with it. I know it's a ticking timebomb, I can't sell it, can't afford to drive it, and might as well forget it when towing. Been to the dealer with the low power deal. They say nothing's wrong with it, it's doing what it's supposed to. Which includes no power or fuel economy. I'm a single income family with wife and two boys, I can't afford to fix this truck, I'm still paying on with bout a little over. Year to go. The truck is useless in my opinion, this is not what I'm paying for . It was near 45,000 new, I am not getting my Moneys worth at all. I was hoping to get into this lawsuit and get some of my poor investment back. 2007 f250 4x4 crewcab

#67 G Schrock 2012-11-04 00:36
Ford needs to make good on these 6.0 liters. The truk ihave makes a trip back to the dealer twice a year to fix it .its the most undependable truck I have ever owned . I have owned ford truck since I was 16. In 35 years of owning ford trucks I am looking at GMC trucks. Because they have resale value my ford dosent. The only positive thing I can say about my Ford is when it dose run right which isn't for long it runs good. Make ford pay the loyal owners back. REAL SOON

I have 2004 f250 which is currently in the shop...has been there for a week now and they are still digging into the turbo system...the engine appears to be failing all together. Exactly what is described in this lawsuit is exactly what is happening to my truck right now! I would like to have involvement in this lawsuit and need all info possible on this matter....Money costs and frustrations are mounting at a rediculous fast pace!!!!

#65 Tim Vogel 2012-10-28 00:41
2005 supercrew with 83,300 mi.EGR cooler went out -no cel when coolant was lost, this also took out my head gasket and it cost me an engine to the tune of $15,700.00 plus lost time and a lot of frustration. I love the truck but am bitter that Ford misrepresented this engine to consumers! Ford should be held responsible for putting a knowingly defect plagued engine into these vehicles!! Sign me up for the class action lawsuit, I think we all deserve to be compensated for our losses !!!!!!!!!!

#64 Gary Fraley 2012-10-27 23:39
I have one that I bought at 28,000 mi. Have only 51,000 miles now. I get only about 12 mpg. Expected much higher as represented. I don't dare pull my stock trailer with what I now know. I want in on this. Can any one please tell me how to get into this and what the present status of this case?

#63 Paul and Joan 2012-10-25 14:05
We would like to be included in any class action law suits We have a 2005 F-250 6.0 liter Diesel truck that we pull our camp trailer with. It only has 68,000 miles on it and that last time we went camping the turbo stuck on full boost and blew the side of the intercooler out. We were told by the Ford dealer it would cost us $3400,00 to repair it. It is in the shop but we are afraid once repaired that something else is going to go wrong with it. We need something dependable and this is ridiculous! These trucks are to expensive a purchase to keep dumping money into to keep them going. Please send us information to be involved with the lawsuit. Thank you.

#62 dave and cathy 2012-10-23 15:56

#60 Gary Wilson 2012-10-16 12:02
I have a 2003 F250 6.0. Ford replaced 4 turbo's under warranty, but since warranty ran out I have had to replace all the fuel injectors that cost me $2,600+dollars now the fuel injector pump went out and left me at the side of the rode and they told me the repairs will be over $3,800.00. Ford needs to make this right. Please add me in on the class action suit

We have an 05 King Ranch. Has been down for 4months. Now just a mere 9,000.00 and we can supposedly have a bullet proof repair job. This following a 1,700.00 repair that got me back on the road for all of 124 miles and then a tow bill back in. I don't know why, we the consumers, have to pay for their mistakes and known defective products.

#56 Jerry 2012-10-08 15:14
I have a 2004 f350 turbo diesel bought new. In Dec '09 had to have new studded heads & gaskets installed, repair bill was $7110.15, no help from Ford. Sept '12 new fuel tank, Oct '12 new radiator. In the shop now, same problem I had in '09.

I have also experienced tremendous problems with my 2004 f-350, multiple injector repairs, ficm replacement 4 times, high pressure oil pump, fuel pump. really only two good things about the truck, the transmission knock on sheet metal, and, the trailer hitch. cant afford a new Ford let alone any other vehicle. SO DISAPPOINTED WITH FORD. i was always a Chevy guy, could not locat a Duramax on the west coast settled on a ford. so angry withmyself for settling. on a found on road dead truck that has left me stranded more than i care to admit even to my wife! no trailer fits the truck have get special tow truck to have it towed to the over chargining dealership with the OEM software that charge you $110.00 to tell you Oh i don't know why your service engine soon light didn't come on. truck ran OK until i got the DETUNE my 6.0 powerstroke recall notice. i have nearlly lost all faith in for superduty truck. i pray that the new FORD engine is better that the International engine. god i am getting more angry as i type! off my soap box.

#44 Isaac 2012-09-04 11:56
We have a 2004 Excursion 6.0 and we have been having trouble with it since day one. And now I'm having issues with the acceleration on the truck. Take it to any diesel mechanic and we have to keep doing trial and error which gets costly. I don't know what made Ford make this change on their trucks but it sure does not compare to their legendary 7.3. Please keep us posted and let us know how we get involved in this lawsuit. It's kind of an inconvenience when you buy a vehicle to drive yet it's always in need of repairs.

#43 Jeff and Diane Wilson 2012-08-16 00:03
Always have been a Ford family and company, We have spent more on 6.0 L engines than we paid for the trucks. Ford tough they are not. Still owe money on the trucks and trying to figure out how to ger rid of these pieces of junk. EGR X 2, 8 injectors,, EGR cooling system x 2 just told not to tow anything before we get another. Please add us to the law suit cant give these trucks away. Ford, you settled with Navistar, you now need to settle up; with all the loyal Ford customers you screwed. Never a Ford again and plan to sell all we have even trucks with no problems. SHAME ON YOU FORD. WE DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH CROOKS

I have 3 of these E-450 cut a way buses with the 6.0 power stroke in my fleet. We have had most of the expereriences that many of you have had and then some. My first bus was in and out of the shop numerous times and then the engine totally failed at 107,000 miles $15,000 to replace. The second bus with same problems and the engine failed at 105,000 and this one was $14,000 to replace. The third has just reached 49,000 miles and already was in for turbo, injectors and so on. Thes buses are well maintained with a preventive check every 45 days, oil change every 5,000 miles and a NYS State Inspector inspects the bus and approves the paperwork that we did maintain the vehicle as per manufactures recomendations. I move challenged individuals on these vehicles and ford Mortor should be ashamed of the incompetance of the product. I am looking to be a part of a class action should any one need another claiment with great record keeping.

#41 Nick Rainier 2012-08-05 15:34
I have a F450 with a 6 liter with 48,000 miles. i use it 7 month out of the year for my seasonal concrete business! EGR cooler let go and my motor oil and coolant mixed and cracked my over flow jug! 1 month out of warranty the dealer just laughed. I have had tires last longer than this junk engine

Almost 10000 in repairs and degas bottle is spitting. Changed degas bottle and caps. Installed arp studs and black onyx gaskets, had heads checked and shaved. Still spewing antifreeze. I have drove ford diesel since I was 12 on the farm this is the first ford I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

I have an '05 F250 with 123k on it that is currently in the shop for repair of many of the listed items at a cost of around $5000. In addition I had a high pressure oil line go out at about 2k past warranty. The problem was due to a defective part that Ford actually had a bulletin on but Ford refused to cover repairs. I would definitely like to be part of this lawsuit.

#35 Dan Falcone 2012-07-22 22:16
I got an 05 f350 with 80k on it and I've put about $5k into it. I say fuck it and let's make ford give us all a new 6.7 or atleast give us what we payed for the truck back. Clearly they made enough money to do so

#34 Glenn Karren 2012-07-19 10:40

#32 Jim Fallin 2012-07-13 11:59
I own a 2005 F-350. Thus far I've had to replace the turbo, heads, injectors, oil cooler, high pressure oil seal, etc... and it still runs like a dog. Truck is plagued with recurrent issues that seem to have no remedy. I've been stranded on the highway until a tow truck showed up. Had to make an emergency stop at highways speeds when turbo hose blew off engine. The truck has also developed "California hop" (for which the dealer say Ford has no remedy for) )and an extreme shudder in the steering wheel which led to my replacing the front steering shocks. Truck is unsellable, virtually unusable for anything resembling heavy duty work... and yet Ford advertise their super duty trucks as "best in class performance, tough, reliable" At best such claims are laughable, at worse they are criminal!

#31 Regina 2012-07-12 20:32
I have a 2005 F250 superduty with the same problems. EGR valve and coolers and rings replace $2500. I bought a warranty when I bought the truck, they went bankrupt about 6 months before repairs another $2000 lost. I would like to be added to this lawsuit. Any info appreciated.

#30 Martin 2012-07-12 14:29
I have a 04 F250 6.0 and have last the EGR valve & Cooler along w/ the oil cooler--it is in the shop now and I don't know what else they will find. Ford needs to make this right and reimburse us for our expense to replace these parts that ALL the Diesel shops indicate that these parts are destend to fail very early in the life of this engine. When your oil cooler or EGR valve & cooler fail--you get NO warning light on the dash to notify the driver of this failure. That is BS!!

#29 mike 2012-06-29 23:11
I have a 2005 superduty with the 6.0 turbo went out that cost 3000.00 now the head gaskets, and head bolts thats a 5000.00 bill when will it all end please put me on this list I want to sue the you know what out of ford for this junk there selling, I cant believe all the people I keep running into with the same problems, please help???????

#28 Charles Spadaccino 2012-06-25 12:43
I bought a used 2006 F350 crewcab from a new car dealer with an extended warranty in Oct. 2011 and took a trip NY. to MT. on April 17,2012 when my turbo blew in New Lizbon WI on April 18,2012 They said i needed a new engine and they called the extended warr. co. & they would have to send out an inspector to check the engine. This took 5 days the inspector said only change the turbo, oil cooler, EGR cooler. The dealer did all that the inspector asked for and when they started my engine it sent more metal into the enging which blew the oil pump off the front of the engine. I then had to wait 5 more days for another inspector to come out to look and he would only approve a USED JUNK YARD engine to be installed in my truck which i only had 6 months and drove it for only 7,000 miles. It took the Warr. Co. 3 weeks to locate an engine for my truck and i didn't get my truck back till May 17,2012 WOW!! Charles

Bought my 04 used from a Ford dealer. It had a "buyback" title with a letter from Ford Motor Co. that the problem had been resolved. NOT! Spend a couple thousand dollars a year for repairs every year! Somebody please help!

#21 Henrik Kristensen 2012-05-16 10:10
Where can I sign up? I had an 04, 05 and 06. All of them have issues. Theese trucks were purchased for their supposed reliabillity, what a joke. Ford Motor Co. needs to offer compensation for excessive repairs

#20 Walter BAGDASARIAN 2012-05-14 19:19
Mine as well,87,000 miles 4 injectors,EGR and now heads are going, took it to Drew Ford and they could care less about customer loyalty!

#19 Dawn 2012-05-12 12:36
I have a 2004 Excursion with the horrible 6.0L piece of crap that Ford unleashed on a very trustworthy public. I have 136k on the truck and just pulled the motor myself only to find the the block and one of the heads is destroyed. I have already spent over 10k in repairs and a new motor will be about the same. I still owe $6200 on it. I'm at a loss as to what to do now. Count me in the lawsuit.

Have an 2006 F250 turbo diesel. Just turned 62,000 miles, it been in the shop now 13 times. 2 turbo chargers, 4 injectors, power steering pump, replaced EGR, check engine light is going to be the 1st light to burn out on this truck. Now I have it in the shop with a serious oil leak. The extended "service plan", not warranty, isn't worth the paper it's written on. I have had a Ford all my life, never again..

I have a 6.0 f- 350 it's a total money pit !!! First it was EGR sensor . Then we went to EGR cooler , that dripped onto wiring modeler and ruined that then we went EGR cooler going out and caused catistrofic engine Failure . My warranty was only 7000 miles over.Ford charged me 10,000.00 for a new engine block . So ever since the it's been one thing after another rear end went out, radiator cracked , fan clutch went out . Another EGR. Sensor that trip was 3500.00.that just to name a few things not including regular maintance . And it's not even paid for !!!! This truck sucks Ford has lost a dedicated customer forever!!!

Im having issues also.I have a 2006 250. I have replaced the fuel pump twice, my fuel injectors are out and the truck is in the shop as I type. The engine revs before it will shift. Gaskets leaking and have been. I'm in for thousands and I know more is to come. Called ford today, they said my warranty expired last month. Last week when my check engine light came on and ford said oh we'll sorry, it's not covered. Please I need to know how to get in on this lawsuit. My truck is almost paid off. I will end up keeping it as decoration for my driveway because I won't get much for it after trade in

Does anyone know how to get involved with this? A name of a lawyer or a # to call?

I'm feeling a little disgusted as well. I have the same issues as everyone else. I'm stuck with the truck. It's too expensive to fix and not worth anything for a trade because no one will buy it. Ford should take some responsibility with their issues. Every 6.0 out there has this issue or will have it. It is clearly a design flaw. I'm keeping all my receipts to get reimbursed...ho pefully!

I own a 2004 Ford diesel. Have replaced the turbo 3 times and EGR. Ford knew they had a problem with the engine before they put the truck on the market. But still sold them to loyal Ford buyers. Im in the hole for over 9K and just sick that Ford would turn out to be crooks. I will definitly be in on that class action law suit. Pensacola, Florida

I have a 2005 diesel with 78,100 miles. 7 injectors went out all at once. Egr cooler went out and the head gaskets as well. Leaked coolent into the oil. Not to mention my engine block cracked. Happened a week before christmas. All in all cost me $14,485.60 to fix. I never ever had something like this go wrong on a vehicle before. How,or am I even able to get in on the class action law suite?

I have a 2003 ford and has been a maintenance nightmare in the last few months. The truck has 77000 miles on it and I just replaced the fuel injection control module (ficm), injector control pressure sensor (icp sensor), and now I have a alarm on the #7 injector high voltage aka injectors out. I took it to the shop to get injector replaced and the mechanic advised me the truck either has low fuel or oil pressure, and a leak in the charge air. I have dumped thousands into this truck already and now I'm looking at thousands more. What can i do.

I would like to get in on the lawsuit. And for your information. Check your bill. The mechanic are so good at fixing the 6.0 because of all the practice that they do it in way under the allowed Ford book labor hours. My F350 6.0 When in and he had it fixed in 7 hrs. Ford allows 17.7 hours and that is what they charge us for. Which means I paid over $200 per hour on the labor to fix a problem they knew they had. What a deal for the dealerships. After I screamed a while they nocked off $300 but the labor was still $1200 for 7 hours. You do the math.

I would like to join too. My 2005 F250 6.0 lost the egr cooler and head gaskets at 66,000 miles and cost $8,000 to fix and update with egr delete, head studs and good gaskets. Engine light has been on ever since. Never came on when it blew up though.

I have a 05 6.0 with less than 60k miles as of 2/1/12. Are they including all 6.0 and states? I have have all the issues, roughly 10k in repairs and Ford offered me a bumper to bumper warranty for just over 2k, retuned my engine to what I feel are below original specs to prevent future repairs. I would like to be included in any future updates to this lawsuit.
