UPDATE: The deadline to file a claim for the Diamond walnuts settlement has been extended to October 26, 2012!

The deadline to file a claim for the Diamond Walnuts class action lawsuit settlement is only two weeks away. If you purchased Diamond of California brand walnuts between 2006 and 2012, you may be entitled to a cash refund of $3.25 or $8.25 per bag you purchased – but only if you file your claim before September 7 October 26, 2012. In some instances, no proof of purchase is required to submit a claim. Here’s what you need to know.

Diamond Walnuts Class Action Lawsuit Settlement

The Diamond walnut settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit, entitled Elliot Zeisel v. Diamond Foods, Inc., that alleges Diamond Foods misbranded its walnut products by making false and misleading statements about the health benefits of eating walnuts, including that eating them would lead to a healthy heart.

Class Members of the Diamond walnuts class action settlement include consumers who purchased Diamond of California brand walnuts (including, but not limited to, Shelled, Halves, Chopped, Finely Diced, Chips, Nut Toppings, and In-the-Shell Walnuts) in the United States from March 22, 2006 through January 30, 2012. Class Members have until October 26, 2012 to file a claim to receive either $8.25 for every 3-pound bag of walnuts they purchased from Sam’s Club, or $3.25 for any other Diamond of California walnut product purchased. You do not need to submit Proof of Purchase unless you are claiming more than three 3-pound bags of walnuts or more than five bags of any other walnut products.

I’ve been making a ver special banana breads for 3 decades now. It requires 2 cups of walnuts each double batch. My bread is famous with my friends in 3 different countries and helps to celebrate, special holidays, and events. I’m glad I just noticed this online, so I can participate. My bread is promoted as being given the time, prayer, love and good for you.
