Nissan Faces Potential Class Action Over Bill Payment Fees

By Amanda Antell

Nissan bill fee class action lawsuitNissan may be facing a new class action lawsuit over claims it charges auto loan and lease customers a $15 to $20 fee to pay their bills online or over the phone. What makes this fee improper, according to the attorneys spearheading the investigation, is that Nissan’s third-party billing company, BillMatrix, only charges $5 to process these payments. Nissan is accused of unfairly pocketing the difference at the expense of its customers.

Overcharging customers for payment processing fees is not an uncommon practice among businesses. Banks, property companies, auto insurance companies, and other major corporations have been accused of tacking on unnecessary fees by former customers. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to prove that you’re being overcharged because you don’t know how much it actually costs to process a payment. Oftentimes, as is the case with Nissan, the customer doesn’t even realize they’re being victimized.

Nissan’s finance department, Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation (NMAC), is being accused of charging deceptive payment processing fees. Some customers are tired of being exploited and are taking action against the automotive giant. Thousands of Americans may be eligible to join a class action lawsuit against Nissan to seek reimbursement for the money they lost on over-priced “convenience” charges.

If you were charged a $15 or $20 fee to pay your Nissan NMAC bill online or over the phone, you may have a claim to seek compensation through a class action lawsuit settlement. Please visit the Nissan Finance Payment Fee Class Action Lawsuit Investigation to learn more and submit your information for a free legal review. It is absolutely free to participate, and you may be able to reclaim fees that were improperly charged.

On 8/23/2013 I leased a Nissan Altima 2013. I purchased and have the contract for a service plan ($610) which was to include oil changes, tire rotation, tune ups etc. We went to the dealership for our first oil change and they said our service plan did not exist and we had to pay in cash for the services. We have been battling with NMAC for two and 1/2 years. They now have acknowledge that we have a legal contract. They have offered to reinstate it and I can use it for the remanding 5 months of my lease. They will not offer me a refund despite denying me service of my contract for the past two and 1/2 years. THey also refuse to put anything in writing and will only speak on the phone as to obviously not be held liable. Our contract states we have service package q. I asked for a copy of what is included in that package and they refuse to tell me.

NMAC and individual Nissan Dealerships needs thorough (detailed) Legal investigation on multiple levels of Consumer Protection violations to include fraudulent contracts that are being accepted by a loan shark..NMAC!

#1) Investigate “Fair LOAN rates” after receiving permission from buyer to check Credit Rating (Buyer is not privy to Equifax score at dealership) Dealership offers highest rate 4.99% when in reality credit rating reflects excellent credit score to Qualify for “0%” rate. I learned this 4 months after the signed paperwork.

#2) Investigate NMAC accepting contracts that are riddled with numeric errors that not even the NMAC call center can explain! 5 months later I realized that I am paying interest on money($3,000) I put down on a Versa and I am paying interest on a qualified Jan. 2013 rebate of $1250.00.

#3) I agreed with the lot purchase price of $14,998 plus a $1250 rebate…8 months later (paying on-line and being charged $20.00 per transaction) the paperwork showed the final sale price of a Manual HB 2012 Versa (basic) at $20,507.00 additional extorting 4.99% monthly. I never agreed to that amount! But final–the greatest violation of NMAC is….

#4) Claiming to WA state revenue that the total sale price of the HB is $15,107.00—IS THIS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF CONSUMER VIOLATION AND EXTORTION—-!

Lets band together in a class action lawsuit to bankrupt NISSAN and lets hope Ford or Chrysler will buy them out! They are making the cars here in TN.
