Bank of AmericaBank of America employees have filed a class action lawsuit claiming the bank failed to pay them overtime and other wages. More than a dozen lawsuits were combined into the class action lawsuit, which could affect as many as 180,000 Bank of America employees if it’s approved.

The class action lawsuit alleges Bank of America requires employees to work more than eight hours a day or 40 hours a week, yet fails to pay them for both overtime and for all straight time worked, according to a news report. Another news report says the employees claim they were told not to record their overtime and even had their recorded hours modified by Bank of America to eliminate any incurred overtime. The lawsuit also accuses Bank of America of requiring employees to work during unpaid breaks, failing to provide meal and rest breaks, and failing to pay terminated employees for earned wages and accrued vacation time in a timely manner.

The class action lawsuit is seeking back pay and other damages for class members in addition to attorney fees, and could be worth more than $100 million.

    So…………..I supported this lawsuit when it came out. I recently decided to go back to bank of America this yr 2015. And was told that I am unable to be rehired because I failed their internal background check. I escalated this and someone from cooperate security called me a few days later. They advised that it was something in my internal file and not my credit or anything external. Please keep in mind my mortgage, cc, and accts are with BOA. So I looked into my file with HR and was advised that I have no disciplinary actions against me while working my 5+ yrs for BOA. So I reached out to a friend in cooperate and was advised that this lawsuit is why I cant go back to the company. Please be advised that on the forms that was sent out it specifically states that you will not be discriminated against by filing suit. However after what I found out I will like to know if anyone else has had this problem beside myself.

    I signed and sent in my claim in June. I called after everyone else that filed the claim received their checks however 2 weeks later i am still waiting and was told that they never received the paperwork. Weird! I sent it in a month before everyone else however maybe the “problem” was that i sent it via inner office. Hmmm i wonder how that could have got lost. Ooops now it’s too late. I can’t say that I’m surprised.
