Mega-T Class Action Lawsuit Settlement

By Sarah Pierce

If you purchased a Mega-T weight loss product, we have good news and bad news for you. Bad news is you probably didn’t lose all the weight Mega-T promised you. Good news is you can get your money back — up to $60 — under a class action lawsuit settlement.

CCA Industries has agreed to pay $2.5 million to settle a class action lawsuit accusing the company of making false weight loss claims about its Mega-T dietary supplement product line. Advertising and product packaging for the Mega-T line claim using the dietary supplements could result in rapid, permanent weight loss — up to 20 pounds or two pounds per week — without diet or exercise. It also claims that using the supplements burns belly fat, reduces food cravings, suppresses appetite, increases metabolism, and burns calories and fat. According to the class action lawsuit, there is no scientific data to back up these claims, and consumers were led to purchase Mega-T products based on these false and misleading statements.

If you purchased any of the following Mega-T products for personal use between September 29, 2005 and June 9, 2010, you can claim money from this class action settlement:

Mega-T Ultra

Mega-T Plus

Mega-T Effervescent

Mega-T Green Tea Dietary Supplement

Mega-T Dietary Supplement

Those who have a valid receipt or credit card statement proving they purchased one of these Mega-T products can receive $10 for each product purchased. If you don’t have a valid receipt or credit card statement, you can provide a written declaration, along with other requested information relating to the purchase of the product, to receive $10 for each product purchased, up to a maximum of six bottles. Claim forms must be submitted online or postmarked no later than September 2, 2010.
