A proposed settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit concerning advertisements that were allegedly sent by Seiko Corporation of America by facsimile. If you received a faxed advertisement from Seiko in the last six years, you could claim up to $375 from the class action lawsuit settlement.
The Seiko fax class action lawsuit alleges Seiko violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by sending consumers faxes that promoted its goods or services. Seiko denies any wrongdoing but has agreed to a $3.5 million class action settlement to end litigation.
Class members can receive up to $375 from the Seiko fax settlement, which is huge. TCPA violations concerning facsimile advertisements tend to pay big bucks for class members in class action settlements. Take the UScoot Fax Class Action Settlement we told you about last month. Class members in that settlement were able to claim up to $500 for receiving fax advertisements from UScoot.
To be included in the Seiko settlement class, you must have received a faxed advertisement from Seiko between December 18, 2004 and September 21, 2010. Class members who submit a valid claim form by the deadline of December 6, 2010 will receive up to $375 in the Seiko fax class action settlement. Claim forms can be downloaded from the Administrator’s Website at FaxTransmissionSettlement.com. A Final Fairness Hearing on the proposed class action settlement will be held January 14, 2011.
