Toshiba Satellite RAM Upgrade Settlement
By Kimberly Mirando

Toshiba Satellite notebook computerToshiba Satellite laptops don’t have the capacity to upgrade their Random Access Memory (RAM) as advertised, according to a class action lawsuit that has recently been settled. If you purchased or acquired a new Toshiba Satellite notebook computer, you may be entitled to a free motherboard replacement, a $35 credit voucher, or up to $150 in reimbursements from the Toshiba Satellite RAM upgrade class action lawsuit settlement.

The Toshiba Satellite class action lawsuit alleges Toshiba falsely advertised and sold certain Satellite notebook computers as having the capacity to upgrade their RAM to 4 GB when, in fact, the maximum amount of RAM upgrade capacity was less than advertised. If you purchased or otherwise acquired one of the following Toshiba Satellite notebook computers, you may be entitled to benefits under the class action settlement:

P105-S6167

P205-S6237

P205-S6307

U305-S5097

U305-S5077

U305-S5087

Additionally, a select number of the following Toshiba Satellite models are included:

P105-S6147

A135-S4407

A135-S4417

If the court approves the Toshiba Satellite RAM settlement, you can file a claim for one of the following benefits:

(1) A motherboard replacement enabling the expansion of RAM up to 4 GB (claim forms must be postmarked or, if applicable, submitted electronically, by January 31, 2011);

(2) A $35 credit voucher for use on www.toshibadirect.com (claim forms must be postmarked or, if applicable, submitted electronically, by January 4, 2011);

(3) Reimbursement of reasonable costs, not to exceed $150, incurred for unsuccessful attempts to upgrade the RAM prior to December 31, 2008 (claim forms must be postmarked or, if applicable, submitted electronically, by January 4, 2011).
