Landline Phone Bill Premium Content Settlement
By Kimberly Mirando

landlineWe’ve been writing a lot about class action settlements involving wireless subscribers getting charged for unauthorized premium content, but now we’ve come across a class action settlement involving landline telephone subscribers. If you’ve ever been billed for premium content on your landline phone bill by Snackable Media or one of its affiliates, you may be entitled to receive a full cash refund of these charges or up to $14.95 cash.

The landline class action settlement resolves a class action lawsuit titled Margaret Ryan v. NextWeb Media LLC n/k/a Snackable Media LLC that alleges Snackable Media charged consumers for premium content that they did not authorize. “Premium content” is a category of products or services (such as email and voicemail services) provided by parties other than the telephone carrier that may be purchased and charged to landline telephone bills. It’s often billed through your telephone carrier, but is advertised, marketed and sold directly by third-party merchants.

You’ll know you’re a part of the Snackable class action lawsuit settlement if you received charges on your landline telephone bill that refer in some way to one of the following third-party merchants:

Snackable Media LLC

NextWeb Media LLC

Email Discounts LLC

Intelicom Messaging LLC

Email Discount Network LLC

Douglas Lambert Laboratories LLC d/b/a Orbit Telecom

Conxtr LLC

Ezsavr LLC

Residential Email LLC

Voicemail Direct USA LLC

Email Music Network LLC

Messaging Plus LLC

If you review your landline telephone bills and find a reference to any of these companies on any of your bills prior to December 23, 2010, you’re considered a class member of the Snackable premium content class action lawsuit settlement and are entitled to benefits.

You have two choices to receive cash benefits from the Snackable landline settlement. Option #1 is to receive up to a $14.95 set cash award by providing simple information and verifying that you received an unauthorized charge covered by the settlement. Option #2 is to receive a full cash refund of up to three months of each instance of these charges, as long as you can provide more detailed information about subscription or other recurring charges for the unauthorized premium content.

In order to receive either of these cash payments, however, you must submit a claim form either electronically or postmarked by July 12, 2011.

You can find claim forms and more information about the Snackable Media Premium Content Class Action Lawsuit Settlement on the Settlement Administrator’s website at www.LandLineClassAction.com.
