Vivint class action lawsuit

UPDATE: On August 31, 2020, viewers began reporting they received a 2nd Vivint TCPA settlement check for $8.35. Congratulations to claimants that received a portion of the leftover settlement funds!

Home security company Vivint Inc. has reached a $6 million class action lawsuit settlement over allegations its telemarketers violated the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act while promoting Vivint home alarms and services. If approved, Class Members could claim up to $500 from the Vivint class action settlement.

The Vivint TCPA settlement will resolve allegations that telemarketers violated federal law by utilizing prerecorded messages and autodialing equipment to contact persons and entities in the United States since 2008. The Vivint class action lawsuit also accuses the company of placing calls to consumers who had their telephone number registered on the National Do Not Call Registry and on Vivint’s internal Do Not Call list.

Vivint denies the allegations but agreed to a $6 million class action settlement to resolve the litigation and avoid the expense of going to trial.

A federal judge preliminarily approved the Vivint TCPA class action settlement on June 9. A Final Fairness Hearing is scheduled for Aug. 25.

  • a call made through the use of automated dialing equipment;

    Finally received my check today,69.51.

  2. Mike says:

    I can confirm that the Vivint settlement check have indeed gone out, as I just received mine in today’s mail.I was awarded just over $69 as my share of the settlement fund, which means that given 50% to the lawyers and a good chunk to the original plaintiffs that there were only about 30,000 claims paid out. Take action if you have been wronged. Follow the rules to be included in the class, dont claim if you were not in the class and you should do okay.

  3. Pam W. says:
