Details: The Dell sales tax settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit, titled Mohan, et al. v. Dell Inc., et al., that alleges the defendants improperly charged California use tax on purchases of certain Optional Service Contracts and forwarded these taxes to the California State Board of Equalization (“SBE”).
Defendants deny the allegations, but have reached two distinct class action lawsuit settlement agreements to resolve the legal action: the Dell Settlement and the SBE Settlement.
To be eligible under the Dell Settlement, you must have purchased one of the following covered Optional Service Contracts:
- DMLP Optional Service Contracts purchased from DMLP during the period from April 8, 1999, through September 30, 2000;
- BancTec Optional Service Contracts purchased from DMLP during the period from April 8, 1999, through December 31, 2000; or
- DCSLP, BancTec and QualxServ Optional Service Contracts purchased from DCSLP during the period from April 8, 1999, through February 8, 2004.
To be eligible under the SBE Settlement, you must have purchased one of the following covered Optional Service Contracts:
- DMLP Optional Service Contracts purchased from DMLP during the period from October 1, 2000, through June 30, 2008;
- DCSLP, BancTec and QualxServ Optional Service Contracts purchased from DCSLP during the period from February 9, 2004, through December 31, 2006;
- BancTec Optional Service Contracts purchased from DMLP during the period from January 1, 2001, through June 30, 2008; or
- QualxServ Optional Service Contracts purchased from DMLP during the period from January 1, 2002, through June 30, 2008.
You may be eligible to participate in both the Dell and SBE settlement.
The only way to receive a refund of the from the class action settlement is to submit a Claim Form no later than May 29, 2013.

I mailed in the form back in March I believe, still not a word on anything. 20 bucks is 20 bucks and getting it back would be nice… I suppose they are waiting for enough interest to accrue so they dont lose a dime….
I got the statement, filed the claim on time for like $20.?? in over paid tax, still nothing?? Anyone know anything?

product is fair, but to get a descent repair person is nutty…I mean they are all from India..have nothing bad to say about these politite people..just hard to figure out what they are saying….and then they get frustrated..by that time the contract runs its’ course and NO service..or thy offer to fix on line for $99.99..
I dont like this product . It is unsatisfactory.
