Pradaxa Linked to Hemorrhage & Internal Bleeding Deaths
By Scott Hardy
At least six wrongful death lawsuits have been filed against Boehringer Ingelheim, the makers of the blood thinner drug Pradaxa (dabigatran.) In fact, a new FDA report states that Pradaxa may have been responsible for at least another 117 deaths in the second quarter of 2011.Pradaxa, an anticoagulant, is a relatively new drug which was only on the market for less than a year at the time the deaths have been attributed to it. In fact, the Institute for Safe Medication Practices has found that "inhibiting the blood clotting process in elderly patients ranked as one of the highest risk outpatient drug treatments in all of medicine". You can read through their entire report here.
The ISMP report also notes that Pradaxa (dabigatran) appeared to be causing overdoses and hemorrhage in elderly and the oldest patients. Pradaxa is suspected to be tied to at least 856 reports of serious, disabling, or even fatal injuries. 856 is an incredibly large number when tied to a drug suspected of causing severe internal bleeding and even death. The number of internal bleeding, hemorrhages, deaths and Pradaxa injuries possibly connected to the drug is more than any other regularly monitored drug.
Pradaxa (dabigatran) internal bleeding and hemorrhage class action lawsuits and personal injury lawsuits are being filed across the country. Multiple Pradaxa class action lawsuits have already been filed and may be enjoined together in federal court. In addition, personal injury attorneys across the United States have filed dozens, if not hundreds, of lawsuits alleging that Pradaxa is behind the internal bleeding, hemorrhaging, and even deaths of patients.
If you would like more information about filing a Pradaxa internal bleeding class action lawsuit or a Pradaxa hemorrhage personal injury lawsuit just go to the Pradaxa Internal Bleeding Class Action Lawsuit Investigation page. There you can submit your information to attorneys who are actively investigating all claims regarding internal bleeding, hemorrhage and other problems which may be attributed to Pradaxa.
