Shipbuilder Wins $12M Asbestos Mesothelioma Lawsuit Settlement

A former shipbuilder exposed to asbestos has been awarded $12 million in a Mesothelioma lawsuit settlement against Westinghouse Electric Corp. and Mundet Cork Co. The settlement was awarded just 10 months after the Plaintiff’s Mesothelioma diagnoses, highlighting the favorable consideration many Mesothelioma victims are receiving in lawsuits seeking compensation for asbestos-related injuries.Â
The $12 million asbestos lawsuit settlement was awarded to Plaintiff Frederick Schulte, who worked as a ship fitter and iron fitter for McDermott Incorporated Shipyard where he regularly handled old piping, valves and gaskets on quarter boats used in World War II.
