Details: The Robots DVD text message class action lawsuit alleges Twentieth Century Fox and FoxStore.com violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by sending unsolicited text messages to U.S. citizens advertising the DVD release of Robots. If you received a text message in September or October 2005 that said the following, you’re considered a member of the Robots DVD settlement class:

GEAR UP 4 THE HILARIOUS ANIMATED FILM ROBOTS ON DVD @FOXSTORE.COM. TAKE AN EXTRA $5 OFF THE ALREADY LOW PRICE BY USING COUPON CODE ROBOFOX PWRDBYZINGY.

Twentieth Century Fox and FoxStore.com deny any wrongdoing, but have agreed to create a class action settlement fund of $16 million to settle the Robots DVD lawsuit. If you received the text message above in September 2005 or October 2005, you will be eligible to receive $200 cash, unless the expenses, fees and total number of valid claims exceed the $16 settlement fund, in which case your cash payment will be reduced pro rata.

All you have to do to receive the $200 Robots DVD class action settlement payment is submit a valid claim form to the Lozano v. Twentieth Century Fox Settlement Administrator by May 30, 2011. Claim forms can be downloaded or submitted online at lozanotextsettlement.com. (Submitting online is highly recommended — its faster, easier and free.)
