Details: Bell Sports, Inc. has reached a class action lawsuit settlement over allegations it violated state law by improperly labeling and selling certain children’s bicycle seats as “MADE IN THE USA.” If you purchased one of these covered products between 2006 and 2012, you can file a claim to receive a check for either $10 or $13 from the class action settlement.

The Bell Sports settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit, entitled Jeffrey M. Card v. Bell Sports, Inc., that alleges the company violated California law saying its Taxi and Limo child seats were “MADE IN USA” when doing so was prohibited by law.

Class Members of the Bell Sports class action settlement include all persons who purchased a Bell Sports Taxi or Limo product in California during the period from January 7, 2006 to March 1, 2012 that bore a “MADE IN USA” or “MADE IN THE USA” country of origin designation.

As a Class Member, you’re entitled to receive a payment of either $10 (if you purchased a qualifying Taxi product) or $13 (if you purchased a qualifying Limo product).

The class action lawsuit settlement also requires Bell Sports to donate $100,000 worth of new bicycle helmet products to charitable organizations that promote the prevention of brain injuries or that provide athletic equipment to disadvantaged young people.

To receive a check from the Bell Sports class action settlement, you must submit a claim form to the Settlement Administrator postmarked no later than August 10, 2012. Claim forms can be downloaded online from www.bellsports.com or by clicking here.
