Details: The BP Propane Class Action Lawsuit Settlement could pay out significantly to qualified claimants. The class action lawsuit will pay out the ENTIRE settlement amount. No money will go back to the defense. What’s that mean? It means that if you are part of the affected class and submit your claim in the BP Propane class action lawsuit settlement you’ll receive your individual claim and a portion of anything left over in the account after the class action lawsuit settlement pays out. That could be BIG (in class action terms) and net claimants hundreds of dollars each. You do NOT have had to purchase your propane from BP to be covered in the BP Propane class action lawsuit settlement. If you purchased propane from from anywhere within one of the affected states you may be included in the BP Propane class action lawsuit settlement.
Â
The BP Propane Class Action Lawsuit Settlement covers those who purchased and/or had the propane delivered to the following states:
Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia or Wisconsin
Â
If your state isn’t listed above then your claim may be denied.
Â
When filling out the claim form keep in mind that most 20 lb propane tanks (those typically used with gas grills) can hold approximately 4.1 gallons of propane and that the propane must have been purchased or delivered in one of the states above and that it must have been purchased in April, 2003 or from February 1, 2004 through March 31, 2004. When submitting your claim online it’s a relatively easy process. Just follow the instructions and you’ll be all set.
Â
Purchased From: All those who purchased propane from a person or entity other than the BP Releasees or any Producer in April 2003 or during the period February 1, 2004 through March 31, 2004

TCA Staff Tidbit: If you purchased propane during the dates listed above you may be able to submit a claim in the BP Propane Class Action Lawsuit Settlement. An interesting item in this class action settlement is that ALL of the money will be going to claimants (other than attorney fees/expenses, settlement administrator and notification expenses.) None of the money in the settlement fund will go back to BP America.
Â
What’s that mean? It means that you’ll be paid for your claim (likely a minimum of $15) PLUS anything left over in the settlement fund. From our estimates that could be HUNDREDS of dollars per claimant. This makes this an extremely interesting class action lawsuit settlement. If you bought propane, and are in one of the affected states, don’t wait, make sure to submit your claim now!

You have to provide your social security number in order to make the claim. I’m not comfortable with that; your mileage may vary.
