Details: The Galeos Salad Dressing settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit, entitled Cooperman, et al. v. Galeos, LLC, et al., that alleges Galeos Cafe mislabeled its salad dressings incorrectly as being low-calorie and low-fat, when they actually contained nearly 10 times the amount of calories and fat in some instances.

The Galeos Salad Dressing class action lawsuit cited independent laboratory tests that showed huge nutritional discrepancies in four Galeos Salad Dressing products: Galeos Miso Ceasar, Galeos Miso Sesame Seed, Galeos Miso Dijonnaise, and Galeos Miso Ginger Wasabi. For example, the food label on the Galeos Miso Ceasar Dressing bottle stated it only had 14 calories and 1 gram of fat per serving. According to the lab test, however, the dressing actually contained 120 calories and 11 grams of fat.

Class Members of the Galeos Salad Dressing class action settlement include anyone who purchased Galeos Salad Dressings, for personal use and not for resale, between November 29, 2006 and May 3, 2011.

Under the Galeos Salad Dressing settlement, Class Members can file a claim to receive a full refund of any salad dressing products they purchased during the Class Period if they can provide proof of purchase and product labels. Class Members that do not have proof of purchase can still receive a cash refund for up to three bottles of Galeos Salad Dressing as long as they affirm under oath and penalty of perjury that they purchased the products.

To receive a cash refund from the Galeos class action settlement, you must submit a valid claim form and proof(s) of purchase (if available) by December 31, 2011.
