Details: The plastic baby bottle settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit that accuses Philips Electronics North America Corporation and another company of violating the law by making, marketing and selling certain Avent and Philips Avent branded plastic baby bottles and sippy cups without adequately disclosing to consumers that the products contained the chemical Bisphenol-A (BPA) and without disclosing the potential health risks associated with BPA exposure.
The Philips BPA settlement covers anyone who purchased or acquired (including by gift) a new polycarbonate baby bottle or training/sippy cup product that contained BPA and was manufactured, sold or distributed in the U.S. by Philips from the period January 1, 2001 through the present.
Here are the bottles/cups covered by the BPA baby bottle class action settlement:
Airflex Natural Feeding Bottles (4 oz., 9 oz., or 11 oz.)
Avent Natural Feeding Bottles (4 oz., 9 oz., or 11 oz.)
Avent Magic Cups (7 oz. or 9 oz.)
The BPA baby bottle class action lawsuit settlement includes six categories of class members (Categories A-F). Each category is entitled to a different level of benefits from the proposed settlement, depending on a variety of factors such as whether you still have the BPA Products, whether you still have proof of purchase for the BPA Products, whether you purchased a BPA-Free Product to replace the BPA Product, whether you already obtained a refund from a retailer, and which state you purchased or acquired the BPA product.
Depending on which settlement category you fall into, you could be eligible to receive a full cash refund or a refund voucher. All the details on how to determine which settlement category you fall under and what the benefits are for that category can be found in the Settlement Notice.
To receive a voucher or payment under the BPA baby bottle class action settlement, you must submit a claim form and the requested paperwork by July 16, 2011. The deadline to exclude yourself or to object to the settlement is April 11, 2011.

So what group am I in if I purchased a bunch of these for my son when he was a baby and discarded them because he outgrew his need of a bottle after having exposed his health to these dangers unknowingly for the maximum amount of time. Do I get free razor blades? Man, this country blows!
