Details: The Genus Credit Counseling/Debt Management class action lawsuit alleges that Genus, the North Seattle Community College Foundation (NSCCF), American Financial Solutions (AFS) and other associated companies engage or engaged in credit counseling operations and violated consumer protection laws. Specifically, the Credit Counseling class action lawsuit alleges that Genus, NSCCF and AFS stated they were non-profit entities yet charged fees which were funneled directly and indirectly to for profit entities. This was done by paying shareholders, employees, executives of the non-profits who then used affiliated, for profit, companies to manage funds and call center operations. Thereby eating up all of the alleged "profit."

 

Hundreds of thousands of consumers are included in the potential class yet very few are expected to submit a claim. It's plausible that claimants in the Genus/American Financial Solutions credit counseling class action lawsuit will receive hundreds, or even thousands of dollars, per claim.
